"Don’t move!"
Sandy Cruz’s tone carried a hint of sternness.
At the same time, that cool, creeping object fell onto her neck, slick and slimy, causing a bout of goosebumps.
Instinctively, she froze in place.
Flossie Wright’s face darkened.
It was a snake.
She didn’t know if it was venomous.
The next moment, that slippery sensation suddenly disappeared.
Flossie Wright heaved a sigh of relief.
She wasn’t afraid of snakes, but she didn’t want to be bitten by one.
Such creatures always appeared out of nowhere, delivering a lethal blow when you least expect it.
What’s worse, you never know if the snake is venomous or not.
In the instant the snake left her body, Flossie Wright slightly turned her head to look at Sandy Cruz beside her and immediately saw the python he was clutching in his hand.
It was a python.
Not very large, about the size of three fingers, it was desperately struggling in Sandy Cruz’s grip.
"Too bad we already have dinner."
After staring at the snake for a while, Flossie Wright shook her head in slight disappointment.
Sandy Cruz gave her a white look.
Shortly after, Flossie Wright shrugged and said bluntly, "Kill it."
She was no animal rights activist.
Although pythons are not venomous, a bite would still be painful.
If they let it go now, what if it came back tonight? She disliked anything that could endanger her safety.
Killing it would give her peace of mind.
Hearing her words, Sandy Cruz didn’t hesitate, clutching the python’s vital spot, and the next time he lifted his hand, a dagger appeared, sweeping across, and the python was cut into two segments.
Flossie Wright was momentarily stunned.
Sandy Cruz tossed his half to Flossie Wright.
She instinctively raised her hand to catch it.
Looking down at the half-body in her palm, Flossie Wright’s mouth twitched, and she sighed helplessly while glancing at the struggling upper half on the ground.
If it had to be buried, then so be it.
So, the two worked together.
Sandy Cruz went back to tending the fire, to cook the wild boar meat thoroughly.
As for Flossie Wright, she braved the rain, shielding herself with a banana leaf, and dug a hole not far away, burying the still potentially dangerous snake head and body together underground.
When everything was done and she returned, two pieces of boar meat were being reheated.
The rain fell in torrents.
This was the rainy season, the downpour arrived swiftly, pitter-pattering on the "roof" and soon dripped to the ground like beads of water.
Flossie Wright had purposely constructed two layers for the "roof," which was quite sturdy, and since she made it spacious, the rainwater couldn’t splash onto them for the time being.
"Did you make this?"
Just as she was about to sit down, Flossie Wright noticed a trench not far from her.
It was right below the edge of the "roof."

Along the edge, a small water channel was dug, and the rainwater falling from the banana leaves poured into the channel, which then flowed away from the Sanctuary into the land beyond.
Flossie Wright knew she hadn’t done it, and there was no one else here.
Moreover—
Sandy Cruz’s clothes were soaked through.
Sandy Cruz nodded naturally.
"Smart." Squinting her eyes, Flossie Wright praised without reservation.
She swept a glance at her, then quickly withdrew her gaze.
Sandy Cruz accepted the compliment as a matter of course.
Before the rain arrived, Becca Reyes and Calvin Ramos found a cave.
