She could never have imagined that with the Brightwill Family out of the picture, Flossie Wright had latched onto another influential figure!
At this moment, Glenn Hutchinson approached with Flynn Reid, ignoring Kate Rivera completely as his gaze landed directly on Flossie Wright.
The toughness and imposing aura that Glenn usually carried vanished completely in Flossie’s presence, replaced by a hint of gentle warmth in his eyes.
Kate Rivera choked again.
Though Gerry Harrison spoiled her and catered to most of her whims, his inherent macho pride couldn’t compare to this man in front of her...
There was simply no comparison!
With just a glance, Gerry was utterly outmatched!
"Just classmates."
Flossie casually dismissed Glenn Hutchinson’s label.
She couldn’t carry such a title.
After all, they weren’t all that familiar.
But the implied meaning in Flossie’s words was sharply grasped by Kate Rivera, who couldn’t help but let her anger surge fiercely.
A blatant insult!
"Oh." Glenn Hutchinson raised his eyelids slightly, asking Flossie Wright, "Is there anything else?"
Before Flossie could finish her sentence, Kate Rivera anxiously cut in.
"Nothing much, just some chitchat," Kate hurriedly interjected, shifting her attention to Flynn Reid before anyone could continue speaking. "This kid is quite adorable, whose child is he?"
It was clear even to Gerry Harrison that Kate’s question was deliberate.
Gerry shot a warning glance at Kate Rivera, but she ignored him, her expression growing increasingly malicious.
She wanted to strike Flossie’s weak spot!
This man already has a child, and Flossie is still eagerly cozying up—what else could it be but pathetic?!
She was simmering with rage inside, needing an outlet but unaware that she had unwittingly stepped on a landmine.
And a whole minefield at that.
Flynn Reid instinctively moved closer to Glenn Hutchinson, his hand grabbing Glenn’s sleeve due to his sensitivity to the topic.
Even though Flynn Reid was young, he wasn’t completely clueless.
He had known for a long time that he wasn’t Glenn’s biological son.
However, the Hutchinson Family treated him as one of their own, never bringing it up and publicly claiming him as Glenn’s son, even if it unfairly tainted Glenn’s reputation, just to provide Flynn with a true identity.
Still, Flynn was acutely aware.
And quite sensitive about it.
Almost instantly, the aura around Flossie Wright and Glenn Hutchinson changed dramatically.
An inexplicable sense of hostility exploded forth, almost tangible, as if it could physically scar the two standing in front of them.
The unbearable pressure made them almost unable to breathe.
Kate Rivera’s face turned pale instantly, overwhelmed by the sudden, intimidating aura.
Ordinarily, someone wouldn’t frighten her this much.
But Glenn Hutchinson and Flossie Wright were anything but ordinary; they had been on real battlefields, hands stained with blood, like swords cleansed by blood, ever cold and sharp.
Their previously calm aura was managed among ordinary people, deliberately suppressed.
Their aura was chillingly intense!
Realizing the danger, Gerry Harrison stepped forward, pulling on Kate Rivera’s arm, saying to the two, "We need to leave."
"Don’t rush."
Flossie Wright stepped forward, a cold smile tugging at the corner of her mouth.
At her words, Gerry paused in pulling Kate Rivera.
For some reason, she was still the same Flossie, but Gerry could distinctly feel that this woman had suddenly become much more dangerous.
"Would you like a wedding invitation?"
Flossie spoke with a light smile, though her voice was ice-cold, her gaze piercing as it swept over Kate Rivera.
"Why should I..."
"Then that’s a problem." Gerry hurriedly pulled Kate back a bit, responding before her, "We’ll definitely be there."
This was no ordinary invitation.
It was an invitation to a trap, with no reason for refusal.
He had a premonition that if Kate rejected it, a disaster would surely befall the Harrison Family!
And this time, the trap would be directed solely at Kate.
In front of the family, Gerry decisively pushed Kate forward.
Kate, white with rage, bit her lip fiercely, her previously feigned cordiality vanished without a trace.
But Gerry hinted forcefully that she dared not resist.
Kate could only swallow this resentment with gritted teeth.
"Let’s go."
Flossie turned around, bypassing Glenn, directly approaching Flynn Reid’s other side.
Then, she extended her hand to Flynn.
Flynn smiled and quickly grasped it.
"Need anything else?" Glenn seemed truly to have forgotten the matter, calming down as he asked Flossie.
"No need." Flossie replied calmly, glanced at Flynn, and said, "Let’s go home."
With Flynn present, they needed to avoid a confrontation with Kate.
This kid was astute, taking in anything said around him and remembering it all.
What they intended with Flynn was to reinforce that biological ties didn’t matter, as long as Flynn chose to stay, he was a son, treated no differently.
Hence, before Flynn, they had to treat this matter as inconsequential.
As for the wedding...
That was their domain.
Without them lifting a finger, Kate would have her hands full.
Such competitive women, when confronting disparity, would lose sleep over it for a month.
So it was a win-win.
Flynn looked between Glenn and Flossie and found them discussing other topics, suppressing his slight unease.
The three of them headed home.
Flossie washed the clothes she bought, then grabbed a clean pajama set and took a shower.
Upon emerging, she found Glenn organizing his wallet.
Drying her hair with a towel, she approached Glenn seated on the sofa.
"Finished washing?"
Glenn glanced up at Flossie.
She replied softly, sitting down beside him.
Glenn handed her two bank cards.
"What?" Flossie asked, puzzled, not reaching out to take them.
What was he up to...
But before Glenn could explain, Flossie suddenly recalled their conversation from the car that morning.
Feeling a bit embarrassed.
Glenn narrowed his eyes and pressed the cards into Flossie’s hands.
"I’m a good man," he stressed earnestly.
Flossie: "..."
