It seemed, not well-intentioned.
Flossie Wright narrowed her eyes, neither cold nor warm, "Speak directly."
She was not in the mood for polite self-introductions. The other’s intentions were clearly evident, and she had no intention of leaking any information. Now, neither did she have the intention to firmly and conservatively keep it for her.
"I don’t want you to talk about what happened tonight."
Speaking slowly, with a deep tone mixed with a dangerous aura, it comes right at her face.
To say "hope," yet the tone was decisive, without the slightest hint of pleading.
How assertive.
Slightly squinting her eyes, Flossie asked indifferently, without any intention of retreat or assurance.
"Or else——"
Speaking softly, Mariana Buck stood in front, her gaze lowered, and a murderous look suddenly appeared, while a hand to the right slowly clenched into a fist.
The mountain wind howled, the two faced each other, and the atmosphere suddenly tensed up.
Suddenly——
"Flossie, shall we go?"
The cool inquiring voice interrupted the tense and dangerous atmosphere here.
Startled, Flossie turned her head to look.
On the mountain path, Belinda Nichols, clad in camouflage, stood there, looking emotionless at this side, without even a frown, as if unaware of anything.
Mariana Buck slightly furrowed her brows, her tightly clenched hand loosening a bit.
"Let’s go."
Relaxing her brows, Flossie agreed without hesitation, glanced at Mariana Buck, and then turned to walk toward Belinda Nichols.
Mariana Buck stood still, watching the two figures fading away, the sinister gloom in her eyes gradually dissipating.
At last, the corner of her lips slowly curled up, even her smile tinged with coldness.
Quite interesting.
On the way.
Ever since she had called out, Belinda Nichols had not spoken again.
Still with that cold, icy face, her expression as chilly as ice, she hadn’t shown any sign of emotion throughout the journey.
Flossie hadn’t initiated conversation either.
She didn’t ask why Belinda was there, didn’t ask what she had heard, nor why she had lent a hand.
Not until they were almost at the dormitory building did she stop, glancing at Flossie, and suggest in a cool voice, "Don’t provoke her."
Flossie lifted an eyebrow.
"Mariana Buck," Belinda pronounced each word clearly.
Looking at her, even her gaze was cold, Belinda said slowly, "She’s very formidable."
"Is that it?"
Her expression paused, Flossie looked up, puzzled.
Staring intently at Flossie’s eyes, after a moment, Belinda added, "And very dangerous."
Very formidable, very dangerous.
Flossie agreed on both counts.
But, formidable and dangerous individuals, just among those Erina Taylor had encountered before, were not few in number.
She definitely wouldn’t seek trouble without absolute confidence, but if trouble came knocking on her own door, she wasn’t going to push it away politely.
There was no need.
Each chose their own way to live.
With the same problem, some chose to back down, some to face it head-on.
She could yield, but such yielding was based on personal dignity, and couldn’t be without limits.
That one called Mariana Buck, as long as she didn’t come looking for trouble, they could both live in peace.
After a pause, Flossie asked, "Am I not a match for her?"
Frowning, Belinda looked at her intently, her face expressionless as she pondered, and soon said, "Not bad."
Indeed, not bad.
