Stuart Weston reluctantly responded.
If it weren’t for Flossie’s sudden ambush, he wouldn’t have lost so embarrassingly. No matter how strong Flossie Wright and Becca Reyes were, he could have held on for a few moves, but the two of them were unbearably despicable.
Absolutely...
Stuart grinded his teeth as his impression of Flossie took yet another hit, placing her on his blacklist for being absolutely despicable.
Nathan Foster was significantly pissed, emitting a doubly loud harsh rebuke once again, "Louder!"
Giving Flossie a spiteful look, Stuart straightened his back, spread his hands wide, and bellowed out his response with his loudest voice, "Yes!"
"Then get lost!" Startled by the ludicrous sound he made, Nathan Foster’s expression seemed to darken the void, "Five thousand-meter armed swim... Doubled this afternoon!"
Having given his response once more, Stuart couldn’t dare stall any longer and raced back, fighting back tears.
All this additional training over a few minutes of lateness – what a ’bargain’!
Caldroning his temper, Nathan Foster’s [irascible roar resonated at the newbies again,"All lined up, at attention!"
Meanwhile—
One hundred meters away, Rowdy Brightwill, who was under Captain Bard’s orders to continue basking under the sun, turned his head to watch the nonchalant figure of Flossie standing at the back of the line, his face sketched with a deep smile, it looked warm.
Ever since Nathan Foster had brought them over, Rowdy had been sporadically checking up on the situation on the other side, observing clearly how Flossie dealt with Stuart.
And afterwards, he heard her defence in full detail.
Somewhere along the way, she had become more and more interesting.
Rowdy shifted his gaze upwards towards the sky, fragments of the glaring sunlight seeping into his eyes, scattering a broken sheen of light that mirrored the illumination of a deep lake in his slowly fading smile. But there was something else, a hint of sorrow was added.
But also, somewhere along the way, she had become more and more distant from him.
But that’s okay.
As long they’re both alive, nothing else matters.
That afternoon, as expected, Nathan Foster ruthlessly tormented the newbies after they had been thrown into the sea, using even more brutal measures to torture the rest.
In the sea, they had to execute each of the three ’Falling Skill’ techniques they learnt 100 times. Anything less than perfection was a fail and it would have to be repeated, once on the shoreline and once in the sea, all while enforcing total silence from the newbies.
The collective newbies were beaten badly. Even though they didn’t suffer from severe injuries, they had sustained at least some form of injury or bruises. The moment Foster shouted "break time," everyone immediately collapsed onto the ground, those that were already on the ground let the waves wash over them, they couldn’t even be bothered to roll over.
They were just too tired!
Both Flossie Wright and Becca Reyes, whose physical condition was relatively weak, had suffered some severe injuries. Added to this was the constant washing of the sea, which seeped into their open wounds, causing the skin around their injuries to turn blood-red with pain.
