She was personally brought back by Ice.
But Ice, in the car, didn’t even mean to come down and say hello, just drove away directly.
Flossie Wright and Belinda Nichols locked eyes.
Raising an eyebrow, Flossie asked teasingly.
Belinda stared at her, not knowing how to answer the question. After a while, she replied in her usual tone, "More or less."
Flossie nodded, not meaning to ask more.
In fact, the siblings didn’t have a fight; it was just that their fates were different, leading them on two completely different paths. Even the closest siblings would inevitably feel a bit estranged when meeting again.
"Thank you," Belinda added.
"What?" Flossie, who was about to enter, raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Staring at her, Belinda spoke earnestly, "You helped him a lot."
Flossie chuckled softly, asking leisurely, "Didn’t he tell you that he also helped me a lot?"
"No," Belinda replied without changing her expression.
Pausing slightly, Flossie found herself unable to respond.
In fact, she had no idea that Belinda and Ice had smoothed things over. Belinda knew about Ice’s experiences only in passing, but focused more on Flossie’s joining Anonymous, and listened intently.
"Speaking of which," Flossie thought of what Ice had asked her to convey yesterday, and couldn’t help but frown, "Did Ice tell you about the matter of leaving the Forces?"
"He did," Belinda replied.
After waiting for a while without her continuing, Flossie had to press on, "And then?"
"Nothing after that," Belinda knitted her brows, a little perplexed.
Flossie helplessly rubbed her nose.
It seemed, judging by this state, the idea of staying hadn’t been considered.
Taking a step forward, Flossie slightly furrowed her brow, her expression becoming serious. She turned sideways, as if asking casually, "What if, you really sacrifice yourself?"
"Then I sacrifice myself," Belinda replied coolly, not even frowning.
"Would you be willing?" Flossie looked into her eyes.
"No," Belinda’s tone was flat.
"So?" Flossie’s eyebrows moved slightly.
After a pause, Belinda didn’t directly answer her question, "What about you?"
Thinking for a moment, Flossie smiled, "I wouldn’t be willing either."
"You didn’t leave the Forces," Belinda said firmly yet seriously.
Flossie smiled, her smile carrying a hint of relief.
Most of these people weren’t truly willing to die; they mostly did it for the country and their beliefs. Many times, they had no choice but to stand in such a place, fighting with real weapons. Often, when the fight truly started, it became quite pure: to kill the enemy so that they wouldn’t die. As for what was taught in the Forces—
Oh, in battle, one couldn’t remember those things at all.
"Let’s go back," Flossie said leisurely, her tone light.
Belinda nodded affirmatively.
Neither of them had dinner, so they went to the dining hall together. There wasn’t much food left, not even steamed buns, so Flossie and Belinda had to make do with the "leftovers."
This time, Flossie was somewhat surprised to find that Belinda could eat all the foods she didn’t like without showing any change in expression.
But she still believed that Belinda was a picky eater.
On their way back to the dormitory building, Flossie and Belinda discussed the issue of grouping during combat if an outbreak really happened at that time.
