"I’m fine." Flossie responded casually. Just as Jocelyn walked in, she turned to Yvonne, eyebrows raised, "Don’t you have cold medicine?"
Caught off guard by Flossie’s question, Yvonne’s face showed a hint of hesitation.

She had indeed, while trying to suck up to Flossie in the past, revealed that she had a considerable stash of medication. It was no secret, after all. Her fellow squad mate, Neal, had a nurse as his best friend who could easily prescribe any medication. It was like a friendly visit paying off, hence her hands were full of medicine, not to mention the ones she bought elsewhere. Her collection was enormous.
However, although the medicine was not costly, and she didn’t mind giving some away, she had a newfound distaste for Flossie and didn’t want to help her in the slightest. Besides, she was afraid that if Neal found out, he would turn against her. So...
She hesitated.
Unbeknownst to her, the danger hidden deep within Flossie’s eyes grew more apparent with her hesitation.
While Yvonne was figuring out how to refuse, her carefully prepared response didn’t even make it past her lips. She looked up to find Flossie’s gaze growing ice-cold, resembling a frosty wine cellar that chilled her to the bone. Danger and fear instantly took hold of her as she shivered, changing her refusal into an agreement, "I’ll get it for you right away."
With that, she ran off to the kitchen without any further delay.
Jocelyn, who had been observing this exchange, advanced a few steps, glancing at Yvonne’s retreating figure with a hint of disdain, "Your fellow squad mate sure is something."
Spineless losers were everywhere.
They bullied the weak and feared the strong. Whenever there was trouble, they hid and dared not step out. They were petty and paranoid. There were many such people in the world who, when compared with the plain and straightforward comrades in the Forces, were uniquely ’outstanding’ in an absurd way.
Flossie glanced at her indifferently, delivering a vague remark, "Six of one, half dozen of the other."
"Hey!" Jocelyn’s eyebrows slanted in anger as she heard Flossie comparing her to the spineless loser, "There is no way I’m on the same level as her!"
Jocelyn had always disliked Flossie. Although her resentment had somewhat lessened recently, Flossie’s place in her heart had not improved much. Now being compared this way by Flossie, she felt like a provoked cat, her anger surging uncontrollably.
Whilst Jocelyn’s roar fillede their ears, Flossie casually massaged her aching ear without taking the outburst seriously, "I didn’t name names."
Jocelyn watched her in disbelief as Flossie casually brushed off her anger. She was so angry she almost choked on her own words, her insults dying at her throat as if they might end up choking Flossie.
Flossie in the past would always argue with her and couldn’t tolerate any disrespect. But now, Flossie’s unbothered demeanor clashed with Jocelyn’s fiery temperament. The words that used to easily infuriate Flossie only left Jocelyn frustrated while Flossie acted as if she were arguing with thin air.
One must admit, this feeling was rather exhausting, extremely so.
Jocelyn was utterly incensed.
However, while she lamented alone, Flossie had already begun tidying up the kitchen, completely ignoring her presence.
"Haven’t I told you that you are especially annoying when you ignore people?" Jocelyn turned in circles within the kitchen, but she didn’t hold her silence as well as Flossie. She finally bit the bullet and spoke to her, gloom written all over her face.
Even though what she said wasn’t particularly nice.
"Yes". Flossie replied casually, placing the set of utensils back in their original place at a leisurely pace.
