"Stay safe."
Holding her gun, Flossie Wright was about to leave but stopped to give Glenn Hutchinson a word of caution.
Glenn Hutchinson was slightly taken aback and turned his head to look at Flossie’s serious expression. For some reason, his heart stirred, so he nodded.
Flossie then grabbed the 88 sniper and walked towards a nearby tall building.
His gaze lingered on her back for a long time until her figure disappeared, and only then did Glenn Hutchinson withdraw his gaze with a rather heavy heart.
He wasn’t keen on letting Flossie leave his line of sight.
But their specific professions were different, as were their roles on the battlefield, so some things would inevitably not go as desired.
He believed that he would always be within Flossie’s field of vision.
"Captain Hutchinson, is she a female soldier?"
A familiar SWAT member approached, subtly glancing in the direction where Flossie had left.
There was an obvious deeper meaning in this remark.
In a place like this, seeing a rare female soldier naturally raised doubts about her capabilities.
Of course, it wasn’t that they thought female soldiers had no capabilities; it was just an unconscious disbelief.
"She’s the captain of our female team."
Glenn Hutchinson’s expression was stern as he spoke each word deliberately.
"Sniper?" the person looked at him skeptically.
Glenn Hutchinson responded without much enthusiasm.
Fortunately, the person was tactful enough not to continue the topic and changed the subject to discuss the operation with Glenn Hutchinson.
The SWAT team had asked Aaron Doom for support, so they arrived earlier than Doom’s team. During this time, they hadn’t had a chance to fully explain the current situation, but Doom’s team had already caught a terrorist.
This made the SWAT team quite embarrassed.
Before this SWAT member spoke, Glenn Hutchinson opened the intercom to let the others in Doom’s team understand the current situation.
The situation was still relatively optimistic; several bombs in the mall had been found by bomb detectors, but disarming them was difficult, and demolition experts were working hard to defuse them. However, frustratingly, apart from the one caught by Doom’s team, no other terrorists had been found yet.
They had reason to believe that the terrorists’ actions were not yet over.
The terrorists must be plotting something else; otherwise, with the bombs in the mall being discovered, they wouldn’t remain inactive.
"Do you know how they installed them?" Glenn Hutchinson asked.
"Yes, we’ve got the mall’s surveillance footage," the criminal police officer nodded, "It was through the footage that we found the approximate area where the bombs were installed. But they hid very well, and we haven’t identified them yet. However, we did find a car they commonly use; the traffic police department has already taken action, hoping to get some concrete information."
"Understood."
Glenn Hutchinson responded unemotionally.
This was an extremely major counter-terrorism operation; with so many terrorists carrying dangerous items in the city, no mistakes could be afforded.
Meanwhile...
Flossie, having stopped at a nearby building, quickly set up her sniper rifle and used her scope to check the situation around the mall.
Due to the SWAT’s forced isolation, after quite a bit of suppression, there were no civilians left within the isolation zone. However, to avoid causing panic, the SWAT hadn’t disclosed the specific reasons, which led to many people still watching from outside the zone, taking photos incessantly, and even quite a few reporters had arrived.
Flossie scanned and observed everyone visible from this height one by one.
This crowd of onlookers provided a perfect hiding place for the terrorists.
Since it was a good hiding place, before the bombs were fully defused, someone was definitely stationed there to observe.
This gave Flossie plenty of time to dig deep.
In fact, these people were easy to spot. Since they came with a purpose, they couldn’t impersonate bystanders perfectly, and coincidentally, Flossie was adept at observing these subtle actions. As a sniper, she was sensitive to any inconsistency; she didn’t need to know the reasoning behind it, just recognizing something amiss instantly was enough for her.
This was why she could spot two suspiciously acting terrorists on the helicopter.
But, this was no easy job.
Flossie spent quite some time, until her eyes became sore and painful, before finally spotting someone who caught her attention.
Just then, Dallion Collins’s voice came through her earpiece, "Flossie, in the nine o’clock direction, that man in the floral shirt."
Flossie’s eyes flickered.
The one she was watching was indeed the man in the floral shirt.
He was obviously acting suspicious.
Constantly glancing around in the crowd, his hand was wandering in his pocket, carrying a palpable sense of anxiety.
"He’s about to step out of my sniper range," Dallion said in a deep voice, with a hint of advisement in his tone.
"I’m on him," Flossie replied indifferently. "Get someone over here."
Setting down the observation scope, she lay beside her sniper rifle and aimed at the target through the rifle scope.
Dallion responded, then cut off communication with her.
Members of Aaron Doom, dressed in plain clothes and active nearby, also began closing in on the man in the floral shirt.
Flossie squinted, her gun barrel aimed at the floral shirt. Any unusual move from the man, and she could pull the trigger at any time.
Things weren’t as smooth as imagined.
The increasingly anxious man in the floral shirt glanced around, seemingly unwittingly looking in a direction, just as he spotted the approaching SWAT officers. His expression instantly grew much more flustered, and he subconsciously wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
The next moment, he suddenly snatched a child from a woman beside him and dashed out of Flossie’s sniper range.
Flossie’s brow furrowed.
