The name was chosen by Perry Reed.
Since it was a golden eagle, Perry Reed named it Gold, but—
As they kept calling it, the name took on a different flavor.
Some who knew Chinese simply started calling it God.
More imposing, better fitting its image, right?
In the beginning, Perry Reed was rather displeased, but later, seeing that even Erina Taylor started referring to it as "God," he just let them be.
Flossie Wright stretched out her hand to touch its feathers. At first, God was cautious, but after a few seconds, that futile caution was completely dropped.
Perry Reed’s eyes twinkled with amusement.
The usual God was quite haughty, not allowing even those it was familiar with to touch it, to say nothing of strangers.
Initially, it took Erina Taylor a great deal of effort to subdue it by force.
Who would have thought—
This time, upon their first meeting, it easily warmed up to her.
Sandy Cruz stopped at a distance, gazing at the golden eagle with interest.
"Come here."
Flossie beckoned God with her hand.
God cocked its head, glanced at Perry Reed, then at Flossie Wright, and very successfully "transferred its affections."
Flapping its wings, it flew above Flossie’s head, and after a while, landed firmly on her shoulder.
Flossie narrowed her eyes at Perry Reed.
Perry Reed looked down at her and threw her the military knife stuck with fish.
This knife was originally brought for her.
"This fish is for God. Yours, prepare it yourself," said Flossie, pointing at the bamboo fork on the ground, signaling Perry Reed to do it himself.
Perry Reed’s face darkened.
"Let’s go."
Flossie waved her hand to Sandy Cruz.
Sandy nodded.
Without any doubts, he left with Flossie.
Perry Reed’s face immediately turned as black as the bottom of a pot.
And, only at this moment, did he take notice of Sandy’s presence.
To his knowledge, that man should be the son of some Forces commander...
Seems like, his name is Sandy Cruz.
Is Erina quite close to him?
At that thought, Perry Reed’s face suddenly stiffened.
The men of the Forces, not one of them is any good.
No matter how upset Mr. Perry was in his heart, he could only honestly grab the fish spear, ready to go to the river to catch a fish to bring back.
This wasn’t a problem for him.
On the road.
Flossie took the military knife and cut the fish into several pieces, leisurely feeding God.
At first, God was disdainful of her, but after eating two pieces, it naturally started "enjoying" this treatment.
"You’re not going to ask?"
Halfway through feeding, Flossie lightly raised her eyebrow, looking over at Sandy beside her.

"Ask what?" Sandy turned his head to look at her.
Raising the knife and pointing behind her, Flossie casually said, "Where he came from."
Frowning, Sandy thought for a moment and then spoke, "Where did he come from?"
Flossie fell silent.
"You won’t say."
Realizing, Sandy withdrew his gaze and said indifferently.
In this jungle, it was rare for anyone to enter, so it was more likely for them to come across other students.
Now, they saw someone who was not a student, and who seemed to be very familiar with Flossie Wright.
Given that, they naturally came looking for Flossie, and to find her in the vast jungle was no mean feat.
He could deduce the basic information from analysis.
However, when it came to deeper matters, he had no strong desire to know.
Curiosity killed the cat.
Unless something was of interest, he dealt with it indifferently.
After giving him a quick glance, Flossie sighed at his boredom and shrugged her shoulders, though she said nothing more about it.
Before long, the two of them returned to the cave.
What met their eyes was a pile of firewood covering the floor.
The neatly stacked "pyramid" that had been built earlier was now all over the ground, scattered in small pieces, blocking the road into the cave.
There were no traces of people outside.
The two exchanged a glance.
They quickly headed into the cave.
As they entered, they saw Mariana Buck sitting by the fire.
The fire was burning strongly, and she had taken off her jacket, revealing her slender arms. Many strips of cloth had been torn from the jacket, all tied around her hands.
As the two entered, they caught her just as she finished tying the last strip of cloth.
"What happened?"
With his eyes set firmly, Sandy Cruz took a few steps inside and asked in a cool voice.
"No..." Mariana’s gaze lifted lazily as she started to speak reflexively, but in the next moment, her eyes focused on Flossie at the cave entrance.
To be precise, it was on the creature called "God" on Flossie’s shoulder.
Her gaze suddenly turned cold, and a flicker of murderous intent appeared in Mariana’s eyes as she stared at Flossie, "Yours?"
Flossie narrowed her eyes.
She wasn’t foolish; the fact that Mariana was asking meant she had seen "God" before.
Could it be...
Raising an eyebrow, Flossie asked with curiosity, "Did it hurt you?"
Mariana stared at her for a few seconds but did not reply, instead, redirected her gaze.
She acted as if nothing had happened.
With her arms crossed, Flossie thoughtfully watched her.
It was not the first or second time that "God" had hurt someone.
If Mariana was hurt, it wouldn’t surprise her.
Yet, Mariana showed no hostility or blame.
After a flicker in her gaze, Flossie thought for a moment but didn’t continue to pursue the topic. She raised her hand to pat "God", instructing it to go out and find its own food.
"Is it bad?"
Sandy stood beside Mariana, motionless.
"Not serious."
Without looking up, Mariana responded and moved her arms, then picked up her jacket from beside her and put it on.
Sandy watched her for a moment.
Keeping silent.
Settling down beside her, he prepared to roast the three fish in his hand.
Flossie brought some firewood over.
And just as she placed it down, she felt Mariana’s thoughtful gaze on her.
Stopping her movements, Flossie tilted her head and raised an eyebrow at her.
"Who is he?" Mariana got straight to the point, not bothering with small talk.
"My friend," Flossie knew who she was asking about.
"He’s not military," Mariana said coolly, her eyebrow furrowed.
Frowning, Mariana stated bluntly, "I don’t want to act with him."
After a pause, Flossie suddenly laughed, "I think, he wouldn’t want to act with you either."
Mariana’s expression stiffened slightly.
