Quite clearly, he was upset about his father not accompanying his sister.
However, regardless of his own feelings, it was another matter to assist his father by answering a phone call that could potentially delay his work.
Having observed the dejected look on the face of the young Hutchinson, Glenn Hutchinson took the coat handed to him without saying much. He pulled out his cell phone from his pocket, glanced at the caller ID, answered the call and then, without missing a beat, proceeded upstairs.
"Glenn Hutchinson?"
Very quickly, the voice of Rowdy Brightwill came through from the other end.
Casually sauntering up the stairs, Glenn Hutchinson responded shortly.
"Where is Flossie Wright now?"
Rowdy Brightwill didn’t beat around the bush, asking directly.
"Just left."
"You’re not with her?!"
"Hmm," replied Glenn Hutchinson nonchalantly. After a brief pause, he added, "She may have been kidnapped."
There was a moment of silence before Rowdy Brightwill erupted angrily, "Glenn Hutchinson, dare you use her as bait?!"
Glenn Hutchinson didn’t respond, his expression grew even graver.
He would have preferred to be the bait himself.
"If anything happens to her, I’ll make you pay!"
After a tense standoff, the call was ended with Rowdy Brightwill’s furious outburst. He abruptly hung up, while Glenn Hutchinson calmly put his phone back into his pocket, as if it were nothing more than a mundane call.

Meanwhile—
The sky was growing dim, as if nightfall was imminent. Under the biting cold wind, accompanied by the rustling of leaves being swept away, the atmosphere abruptly tensed up.
Flossie Wright, dressed in a trench coat, stood by the side of the road. The cold wind fluttered her dress’s hem, creating a chaotic yet elegant arc. The short hair peeking out from beneath her cap danced lightly in the wind. The wild wind, the leaves, the shrubs, the stone road, the houses, all seemingly became her backdrop. She exuded a chilling intensity, like an unsheathed sword - the full extent of her threat subconsciously inducing fear in those around her.
Only two minutes ago, they had launched an unexpected attack soon after Flossie had left the Hutchinson family house. To their surprise, before they could abduct Flossie, an eerie deadlock ensued. They circled around Flossie nervously, keeping a vigilant eye on her.
A group of burly men were somehow intimidated by Flossie’s aura.
They couldn’t understand it themselves. Despite having committed various crimes including robbery and arson, they were struck with fear by a woman in her early twenties. Just a glance from her seemed to send shivers down their spines.
"Aren’t you going to make a move?"
Flossie lifted her eyes slightly. Her gaze was mixed with frostiness and iciness, yet still carried an air of laziness and satisfaction. It was like those leering at her were nothing more than insignificant props.
Her words were calm, yet provocative.
Suddenly, everyone surrounding her snapped out of their stupor. They exchanged glances, suppressed their unease, and lunged at Flossie.
Though strong and filled with a sense of momentum, they were merely street hooligans without real skills.
Either relying on their strength in numbers for a gang fight or exploiting their powerful build to bully the weaker ones, the few tricks they had learned could only work against ordinary people. Up against Flossie who had received professional training, they were nothing more than straw men, contributing no substantial effect.
