The few people standing outside the door exchanged glances, communicating their emotions through silent glances. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to believe in Flossie Wright, but the truth of her words still required verification. Moreover, Regan Wright had already gone to bed, and they couldn’t possibly disturb him at this hour. Therefore, after their silent exchange, they decided to split into two groups and keep watch for the night, and only inform Regan Wright about it after the night was over, asking about his situation then.
After all, as bodyguards, they, too, had to earn their keep...
Flossie Wright, with her good intentions, seeing that they still intended to keep watch outside, didn’t say anything more. She simply removed and got rid of the miniature camera in the room that had been temporarily disabled because of the cold. She then closed the window, which had left all the warmth escape from the room, and only after securing it did she leisurely go take a bath. It was only after washing away the coldness that she crawled into bed to sleep.
As for the book, she flipped through it before sleep but only found a piece of paper with an obvious cipher on it. She simply took a picture of it, returned it to its original location, then casually tossed the book onto the desk. Even if it held the world’s greatest secret, it could not keep her from falling into a deep sleep.
The following morning, Regan Wright, who had been feeling down for a couple of days, visibly brightened on hearing that Flossie Wright was willing to go on a blind date. As expected, he removed the bodyguards. At the same time, he had Helen Wright buy some suitable clothes for Flossie Wright. Flossie didn’t refuse any of them, and she put all the slightly larger clothes that Helen brought into the wardrobe. She then wore something simple, put on light makeup, picked up her bag, and left.
However, this time, she specifically requested that the new chauffeur of the family be her driver.
"Flossie, your father has a meeting today, and the chauffeur needs to drive him," Merry Otiz chimed in as soon as she heard Flossie’s request, clearly not intending to accommodate her.
Flossie frowned but didn’t argue with her. Instead, she put on a calm and confident smile.
"Let it be," Regan Wright waved his hand dismissively without looking at Merry Otiz. "We have plenty of bodyguards at home who can drive. It doesn’t have to be him."
Merry found herself at a loss, staring blankly at Regan. She hadn’t expected her attempt to "defend" Regan to make her look unreasonable in his eyes.
Little did she know, Regan was just happy Flossie agreed to go on a blind date. As long as she didn’t force him to cancel everything that was planned earlier, everything would be fine. He wouldn’t care about a mere driver. As for Merry’s performance just now, he saw it as nothing more than womanly over-solicitude.
Very soon, the new chauffeur received the news and came over. He carefully escorted Flossie to the car, doing everything systematically. However, Flossie couldn’t help but take more glances at him.
"New here?"
Sitting in the backseat and listening to the soft music the new driver had put on, Flossie turned towards him with a hint of doubt in her voice which clearly carried over the music.
The new chauffeur replied honestly, looking modest and straightforward.
Leaning back lazily, Flossie loosened her scarf a little and casually asked, "How did you know I like this song ’Indistinct?’"
The new chauffeur paused for a moment, his eyebrows twitched, but he didn’t hesitate in his response, "The preference of the two young ladies, the master, and the madam, I keep them all in mind."
Having just been here for a few days and yet being able to remember everyone’s preferences so clearly, one couldn’t tell if it was due to diligence or professional habit.
