No matter what, it’s getting interesting now.
A sudden realization flashed through her eyes, allowing the new driver to see her slight nod in the rearview mirror. Flossie Wright didn’t continue her inquiries, she turned her gaze outside the window instead. She looked at the snowflakes swirling in the air, which blurred the bustling city.
They were stuck in traffic. Half an hour late, the new driver eventually pulled up at the entrance of the Coffee House.
"Miss, you go on, I will wait for you nearby."
The new driver leaned toward Flossie Wright, a look of worry and guilt surfacing on his sincere face, as if feeling apologetic for her delayed arrival.
Opening the car door, cold wind rushed in, Flossie paused slightly and glanced at him, responding flatly, "No need, I’ll return on my own."

Having said that, she got out of the car, and with her high-heeled shoes she elegantly walked into the Coffee House.
Today Flossie was clad in a leather outfit, highlighted by black boots and a black hat. The usually relaxed woman was exuding an added elegance due to her attire. As a result, she drew many unexpected glances from passersby who wanted to get a second look at her.
Upon reaching her designated table, Flossie saw a serious-looking man wearing glasses and sitting on the other side. He was dressed in a suit, with sharp facial features and hair combed back meticulously. When he saw Flossie, he didn’t hide the irritation in his eyes. He kept checking his watch, suggesting every minute of delay was a big loss for him.
Flossie disregarded him at first glance, but given that he had been waiting for so long and hadn’t said anything unpleasant, she nodded slightly and then sat down opposite to him without confirming his identity.
He was a young, accomplished postdoc, working on research at a well-known university, a professor at that. He had numerous papers under his belt and was fairly well-known in his field.
As for Flossie, she had always made it a point to review the background of every match. Not that she had a photographic memory, but her skill was close to it. She could quickly memorize everyone’s information, not rigidly, but summarize it in an apt manner. Naturally, she was able to identify her match as soon as she saw him.
However, he had a completely different impression of her.
"Are you Flossie Wright?"
After looking at her blankly for a few moments, the man managed to suppress his impatience and asked her doubtfully.
It wasn’t that he was overly shocked, but the woman in the photograph he’d received was worlds apart from the elegant and attractive woman seated before him. The woman in the photograph sported heavy makeup, barely revealing her features, much like the overly makeup women he’d seen before.
He was initially reluctant to come, especially when he found out that Flossie Wright was an active military officer. However, he was here because his family kept nagging him about finding a partner as he was in his thirties and still single.
Yet, he did not expect this surprise, or perhaps it can be said, to be a pleasant surprise after waiting for half an hour.
Flossie crossed one leg over the other and leaned elegantly in her seat. She clicked her fingers to summon the waiter, ordered a cup of coffee without consulting her match, and just as the waiter’s eyes widened in mild surprise, she waved him away as if nothing had happened.
