Ever since coming to Eddy Codalt, she was trained as a sniper, and although her shooting skills weren’t the best, it was hard to find a few others in the entire Base whose shooting was more formidable than hers.
"Who is going to train us?"
This time, the question came from Flossie Wright.
She looked straight at Captain Peng, her expression impassive.
"Are you afraid the Instructor is not qualified enough?" Captain Peng asked with a light chuckle, looking at her.
Flossie Wright replied, unabashed.
Nancy Phillips and Jessie Grain cast a somewhat odd look at her.
They both had seen Flossie Wright’s shooting skills.
In training, Flossie Wright’s shooting was outstanding, but there were several others with equally excellent results.
Amongst the female soldiers, for instance, Jessie Grain and Mariana Buck.
Not to mention the male soldiers.
Perhaps Flossie Wright was indeed excellent, but such a statement did indeed make her appear blindly arrogant!
She can’t be taught?!
Even Captain Peng was taken aback for a moment, looking at Flossie Wright with slight astonishment.
"Based on your performance," Captain Peng paused and smiled warmly, "the person teaching you should be qualified enough."
His smile was friendly, but the words he spoke were also quite assertive.
So, Flossie Wright just shrugged her shoulders and stopped talking.
She hadn’t meant to boast or look down on others; it’s just that if Nancy Phillips could become one of the shooting instructors for the selection, she couldn’t help but have her doubts.
She was not a person to overreach herself, and Flossie Wright also didn’t want to push Captain Peng’s limits any further.
After all—
Being able to become the captain of such a formidable female squad meant she was definitely not a pushover.
"Any other questions?"
After a while, Captain Peng asked them.
"Yes!" Jessie Grain responded promptly.
Captain Peng looked at her.
"When does it start?"
"In two days."
"How long is the training?"
"Three months."
"If there’s a Mission in the meantime, will we be included?"
𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"It depends," Captain Peng paused and explained, "If the Mission requires your skills."
What he meant was, if there was a Mission that required snipers, they would be included.
They were navy soldiers, most of their tasks involved underwater rescue.
When would that be, once in a blue moon?
Jessie Grain blinked, weighing the situation in her mind but choosing not to continue the questioning.
"Anything else?"
After a pause, Captain Peng asked again.
No one made a sound.
So, after waiting for a while, Captain Peng began to meticulously analyze each of their personal situations.
She may not act as an Instructor and didn’t commonly make observations like Bard Walker, but a quick scan through their files gave her a clear understanding of their backgrounds.
About twenty minutes later.
Flossie Wright couldn’t help but reconsider her opinion of Captain Peng.
"Alright, go rest for now." Captain Peng paused, then continued, "Today is Saturday, and the old team members are resting. You two..."
As she spoke, she looked towards Flossie Wright and Jessie Grain, "Here’s a task for both of you: by the day after tomorrow, memorize all the names of the old team members."
Flossie Wright and Jessie Grain responded in unison.
Compared to Jessie Grain’s calmness, Flossie Wright felt somewhat troubled.
Jessie Grain had an extremely good temperament and was well-received wherever she went; remembering a few names was no issue for her at all.
