The reason was all about Aaron Doom.
He remembered that Glenn Hutchinson had invited him.
So, he just wanted to test the waters, and once he got the permission, he went straight to Bard Walker.
Bard Walker’s face was dark as thunder, and he gave Rowdy Brightwill a cold glance before speaking in a chilly voice, "Give me a reason."
"I want to go!"
Standing tall like a pine, Rowdy Brightwill said decisively.
"That reason is not valid." With a swipe of his hand, Bard Walker wished he could sweep him out the door.
Why is it that neither one of them can be kept?
These frogmen, compared to the ferocious spirits of Aaron Doom, where are they lacking?
Unchanged in expression, Rowdy Brightwill stood firm and honestly replied, "Because Flossie Wright is going!"
"Flossie Wright?" Upon saying the name, Bard Walker pondered for a bit before reacting. He trembled as he pointed his finger at Rowdy Brightwill, "Just because of her?"

"Yes!" Rowdy Brightwill replied emphatically.
"No!" Bard Walker slammed the table with force and said resolutely.
Because of a woman?!
Absolutely not!
His soldiers could leave for any reason, but never just for a woman!
"Captain," taking a step forward, Rowdy Brightwill did not back down as he asserted, "I really want to stay in the amphibious frogman team, but I must leave."
"Must leave?!" Slamming the table once more, Bard Walker stood up abruptly from his office chair, "Flossie Wright has only been selected to try out, she’s not an official member yet. There’s a chance she could come back. You, on the other hand, do you think I don’t know your qualities? They would be fighting over you. Can you return if you go?"
Bard Walker huffed heavily, breathing heavily.
If possible, he really wished to slap Rowdy Brightwill a few times to knock some sense into him.
"Captain, she will qualify, and I want to be there to watch over her," Rowdy Brightwill’s tone softened, his voice suddenly very light, "I can’t be at ease."
I can’t be at ease.
He was truly worried.
Being a frogman was dangerous enough, but at least he knew what Flossie Wright was up to, and he had some peace of mind.
If she really went to join Aaron Doom, he would be in the dark about everything.
Not knowing her safety, her hardships, her stresses, not knowing everything she was enduring...
He was certain that if Flossie Wright weren’t there, he would definitely choose to stay with the amphibious frogman team, but because of Flossie Wright, he needed to make adjustments to his life.
Although it was a bit sudden, it was still within his acceptance.
"Rowdy Brightwill, what does being a frogman mean to you, after all?!"
With both hands propped on the desk, Bard Walker stared intently at Rowdy Brightwill, questioning him word by word.
With a slight shift in his eyes, Rowdy Brightwill’s expression stiffened.
After a long while, he suddenly raised his right hand, and gave Bard Walker a proper military salute.
Night had fallen, and the room was dimly lit, with Rowdy Brightwill standing in front of the desk like a statue frozen in time.
A layer of grey enveloped him, casting a shadowy light on his form, his silhouette intersecting between light and shadow, appearing hazy and indistinct.
"Wherever I am, I swear, absolute loyalty to my country!"
Rowdy Brightwill enunciated each word, his voice resolute and firm, as if it were a coin that clinked clearly when it struck the ground and bounced back.
He was determined, and he had no regrets.
Whether in the Navy or the Army, whether as a frogman or with Aaron Doom, it was all to be loyal to the country.
They were soldiers.
Iron-clad military camp, water-flowing soldiers; once Rowdy Brightwill made up his mind to leave, nobody could stop him.
