"Hmm," Flossie Wright responded, handing them the first few books she had borrowed. "Master all of this before tonight, do you have any issues with that?"
The several individuals, who were still deep in thought about the training plans Flossie had drafted for each of them within a short time, were suddenly confronted with another task she had nonchalantly laid out for them. It took them a while to gather their thoughts and get back on track.
The books that Flossie had given them were professional military sign language manuals - over three hundred pages, approximately twenty to thirty thousand words. The number of signs in them was... overwhelming.
They had indeed learned some basic sign language before, but those were only simple signs for quantity and direction, and not comprehensive. Flossie, however, seemed to want them to master everything, including signs for weaponry, engineering, camouflage, terrain, military objects, battles, and tactics...
In short, there were a lot, too many to comprehend.
Before they could express any objection, Flossie casually continued, "The training plans I’ve given you all start this afternoon."
For some inexplicable reason, the three of them fell into a collective silence, subconsciously looking at the training plans in their hands.
The training plans that Flossie had laid out were based on their individual weaknesses and strengths. She had a good understanding of Becca Reyes’ situation and thus tailoring the training to her performance was not a problem. She also had a pretty good handle on the circumstances of Calvin Ramos and Stuart Weston. Flossie’s thoroughness even caught them off guard. She had, with surprising detail, laid out all their weaknesses.
The training plans for basic skills were designed for targeted improvements. For instance, Becca’s plan was focused more on physical strength which involved weapon crossing, weapon field, log carrying, etc. However, Calvin and Stuart’s plan concentrated more on technical aspects like shooting, grenade throwing, military boxing, and the like.
Because they had all just gone through basic training, and the first month was mainly for improving their physical endurance and provided little military skill training, all new soldiers were relatively weak in this respect.
Nevertheless, the training evaluation measures comprehensive capacity, so they definitely had to learn some military skills.
Flossie had planned for them to focus on four aspects - light weapons shooting, tactical training, military topography, and integrated training.
All the exercises were very elaborate and a long list of related reading materials were also provided. Just looking at them made their bodies break out in a cold sweat. They had no doubt that Flossie would expect them to fully comprehend all the books given.
"Are you sure you haven’t made a mistake?" Becca Reyes asked, having read her training plan in its entirety. "My plan starts in the afternoon and ends only by late evening. There are at least ten items on the list. How do you expect us to master this book in such a short span of time?"
Flossie quirked an eyebrow at her, "Just finish it as early as possible."
"Mine’s even tougher," said Stuart Weston, examining his plan closely. He realized he had misjudged Flossie. "The intensity is twice as much as usual within the same time limit. How is that even possible?!"
Flossie watched him, her lips curving up into a faint smile. "If you find it difficult, you could stick with the previous plan."
Uh... Stuart was a bit unnerved by Flossie’s gaze, not knowing why he felt compelled to rise to her challenge. "Who says it’s not possible?! Just you wait and see!"
"I’m waiting."
Flossie casually shrugged and nonchalantly responded.
Strangely enough, Stuart’s defiant words fell flat in the face of Flossie’s casual demeanor, failing to make any impact.
Feeling a bit dejected, Stuart finally realized he wasn’t a match for Flossie. He subtly moved sideways, implying for Calvin to take over, hoping to regain some dignity for the "vanguard."
Accepting Stuart’s furious gaze, Calvin pondered for a moment before asking Flossie in a very gentle tone, "What about your training plan?"
Stuart, standing by his side, nodded in agreement and stared wide-eyed at Flossie. His actions seemed, inexplicably, like that of a juvenile.
Becca rolled her eyes in boredom.
She wondered how this buffoon ended up teaming up with Calvin!
"It’s in my head."
Dismissively, Flossie gave an answer that was brief yet meaningful.
Despite her seemingly irresponsible attitude, it was hard to not believe that she was a highly organized person who would never slack off.
Stuart wished he could spit blood in her face.
She’s so shameless!
Becca, who had been casually standing aside holding her book, watched as Flossie finished speaking and walked in the opposite direction of the dining hall. She called out in confusion, "It’s mealtime. Where are you going?"
Flossie moved with a steady stride, not halting in the slightest. But she did casually lift her hand in a dismissive wave without turning around.
"To settle some accounts."
The calm voice held a hint of anger.
