"That’s true,"
Bard Walker expressed his agreement.
The old man of the Wright Family had served in the military and was familiar with the current state of the Forces. Serving in a regular unit usually meant there was no need to worry about life-threating situations.
In their line of work, surviving and rescuing others in the unpredictable sea always involved risking their lives.
No one could guarantee that a few years later, they could return a living Flossie Wright to the old man.
It’s not that they feared the probable, but the improbable.
What if something unforeseen happened to Flossie Wright?
Moreover, Flossie Wright was a woman. There was no need to assign her the arduous mission of protecting the people.
"Let’s not worry for now," Bard Walker said soothingly after a long contemplation, "The final outcome still depends on her decision."
Ella Pemberton nodded heavily.
The ultimate decision in this matter still lay with Flossie Wright.
If she could persuade the old man, the outcome would be without question. But even if she couldn’t, as long as she was determined enough, she believed Flossie could withstand the pressure and stay.
It might sound selfish, but their team truly needed Flossie Wright.
She was exceptional enough for them to desperately want to retain her.
The next day.
At four in the afternoon, after a whole day of running around, Flossie Wright finally returned to the Wright Family home.
But as soon as a servant led her inside, she sensed a gloomy atmosphere, as if an oppressive aura hit her face, weighing down her heart.
The servants in the villa all wore stern faces, no trace of smiles to be seen, not even the sound of loud discussions.
"Miss, the old master is waiting for you in the living room,"
said the female servant leading the way after walking just a few steps to Flossie Wright.
"The old master?"
Flossie Wright asked softly, pausing in her steps.
the female servant nodded earnestly.
Flossie Wright’s gaze lingered and she guessed that this ’old master’ referred to her grandfather.
At this critical juncture, was he waiting especially to ask her to leave the Frogman Forces?
Without speaking, Flossie Wright followed half a step behind the servant, walking neither hurriedly nor slowly.
Before they reached the living room, however, the sound of a boy’s crying reached her.
"Wuwuwu... Don’t touch me, I want my mom! Wuwuwu..."
Listening discreetly, it was Grady Wright’s voice.
Curious, Flossie Wright stopped and looked toward the source of the sound.
The servant also halted, carefully watching her.
Under a tree not far away, Grady Wright, in his black clothes, was sobbing with his eyes covered.
Standing beside him, in a black dress, was Helen Wright, looking somewhat distressed as she tried to console Grady. However, whenever she touched Grady, he aggressively pushed her hand away.
And her beautiful face was streaked with tears, the shimmer of tears lingering in her eyes.
Quickly, Helen Wright also noticed Flossie Wright, hurriedly glancing over, first freezing in place and then unconsciously turning aside, fiercely wiping away her tears.
"Grady, please don’t be like this,"
Helen Wright said in a low voice, trying to soothe Grady with a choked voice.
"Wuwu, don’t touch me!"
Grady pushed her hand away once more, forcefully.

Her hand, struck hard, caused Helen Wright pain as she swiftly withdrew it. When she looked down again, the back of her hand was already bright red.
Helen Wright, both anxious and in pain, frowned deeply.
"Crying, crying, crying, what’s all this crying!"
