A smile graced her lips as Flossie Wright asked.
Looking up in confusion, Becca Reyes struggled to comprehend her meaning.
"We’re here to train, not to cause trouble within our squad. As a squad leader, our role is to resolve conflicts," Flossie Wright arched an eyebrow, her words carrying a serious tone, "As you just saw, Sandy Cruz was hitting members from our own side, not touching the new recruits, just managing our internal affairs."
"Well, that’s one way to look at it," Becca Reyes said, nodding in sudden realization, then added, "But if the veteran soldiers make too much of a fuss and we end up at a disadvantage, and Jessie Grain doesn’t do anything about it, do you still plan to just stand by and ignore the situation?"
"We’ll see how things play out."
Flossie Wright waved her hand dismissively, her demeanor especially carefree.
Since conflicts were inevitable and disputes were bound to arise, wait until soldiers met the challenge and soil covered the floods, and considering solutions in advance would certainly be futile.
Moreover, she was accustomed to observing from the sidelines rather than actually leading.
As they chatted, the two walked a couple of laps around the Training Ground, akin to an after-dinner stroll.
As the conversation flowed, Becca Reyes sighed with a touch of melancholy, "Tonight probably is our last night of sound sleep, right?"
"Not necessarily."
Becca Reyes was puzzled.
Flossie Wright’s gaze hardened as she surveyed the Training Ground that was gradually filling up with people, mostly veteran soldiers with only a handful of new recruits.
After the last mission, the new recruits seemed to have transformed their passion into fatigue, naturally wishing to make the most of their final day to rest and recuperate.
However, these veteran soldiers who had just arrived were tacitly beginning their training, and the training grounds nearby were also dotted with the figures of veteran soldiers.
Withdrawing her gaze, Flossie Wright stated calmly, "There are no more nights of sound sleep."
"An emergency assembly tonight?" Becca Reyes asked, a twitch of her brow betraying her unquestioning trust in Flossie’s prediction.
"It’s possible," Flossie Wright nodded.
"I trust you," Becca Reyes said with a wave of her hand, sighing, "I’m going back to rest, what about you?"
"Going for a run."
"At this time?" Becca Reyes asked skeptically.

"At this time."
Flossie Wright looked as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Furrowing her brow, Becca Reyes’s heart clenched suddenly as she glanced over the Training Ground and the figures on it.
Rows of veteran soldiers, perhaps having just arranged their gear, unfamiliar with the terrain, and perhaps even skipping meals, were already running, leaping, and moving forward on the training grounds.
Suddenly, a sense of inexplicable powerlessness began to creep from deep within her.
No matter how formidable and outstanding Flossie Wright was, there would always be opponents she couldn’t overcome.
And when they felt they had worked hard enough, put in enough effort, and tried hard enough, there would always be those even more hard-working, more dedicated, and more determined.
Those who were tougher, more committed, more driven, and several notches more skilled had already encroached upon their territory.
Becoming their rivals.
So, what excuse do you have not to try?
Suddenly, a surge of strong emotion and indignation rose from within, and Becca Reyes wondrously found herself no longer so burdened but, on the contrary, feeling much lightened.
"Hey," Becca Reyes nudged Flossie Wright’s shoulder.
After a moment of thought, Becca Reyes smiled, "Let’s run together."
Catching a glimpse of the figure running behind her, Flossie Wright shrugged, "Not interested."
Becca Reyes was taken aback.
"I’m off then."
Waving her hand, Flossie Wright decisively left.
Becca Reyes was baffled, but before she could follow, she heard a voice from behind, "Yo, here they are."
