"What are you really thinking?" Becca Reyes, who had been jesting, was suddenly taken aback. She then patted her befuddled head, "Didn’t you go on a date with Glenn Hutchinson last time? Why did you still choose Rowdy Brightwill?"
As she zipped up her bag, a slight grimace flickered across Flossie Wright’s face.
However, before she could explain, Rowdy Brightwill, who had already packed his things, was already outside the door. He knocked symbolically twice to attract their attention. Seeing them both look up, he raised an eyebrow, "Are you ready? It’s time to go."
Without a word, Flossie Wright casually picked up her prepared backpack, and with a slight lift of her hand, it was already on her shoulder.
Her movements were suave and cool, leaving Becca Reyes blushing as she took her leave.

As the military district was located in a remote area, getting back was quite a hassle. Flossie Wright and Rowdy Brightwill first arrived in the town, took a bus to the city, then a taxi to the airport, and finally flew to Capital City.
The journey was roundabout. Fortunately, they didn’t have much luggage. No matter how often they changed vehicles, it was fairly relaxed.
"You two must be students, right? Rushing home for New Year’s Day?"
Finally, in the taxi, just as Flossie Wright was about to take a nap, she encountered a chatty driver who, despite the loud music in the car, was trying to strike up a conversation with them.
Flossie Wright and Rowdy Brightwill were both dressed in casual attire. Rowdy Brightwill hadn’t been out of the Forces in a long time and wore clothes from his graduation days, while Flossie Wright had just graduated. With neither of them wearing any makeup, their attire undoubtedly made them look like students. It is no wonder the driver asked if they were students.
In contrast to Flossie Wright, Rowdy Brightwill was a very sociable person. He hadn’t been out in a long time, and being young, he was curious. He tried various ways to bring up recent topics with the driver, seeking some entertainment.
"Ah, if you want to know what happened recently, I did think of something," the driver seemed to suddenly remember something as they were about to arrive at the airport, "There was an incident at the seaside a while ago, where two soldiers drowned while trying to save someone. Do you students pay attention to current events? I saw the pictures of the two soldiers. They were pretty young, not much older than you two! What a shame..."
Rowdy Brightwill, who had been jovial, appeared crestfallen upon hearing the driver’s words. His brows knitted and hints of loss and sadness could be detected, overshadowing all of his previous emotions.
The driver could see his distress in the rear-view mirror but had no idea that his remarks had upset the handsome young man. Thereafter, the driver gradually fell quiet, driving the taxi in silence until the end of the ride.
Flossie Wright observed all of this. As they were getting off, she looked at Rowdy Brightwill’s soft features in the sunlight. She paused unexpectedly when he looked at her, flashed her a radiant smile and returned to his usual jovial demeanor, instantly dispelling all of his melancholic emotions.
Flossie Wright casually looked away, hoisted her bag onto her shoulder, put her hands in her pockets and swaggered into the airport.
After around two hours, the temperature dropped from twenty or so degrees to negative ten degrees. The pair changed from autumn to winter wear. When Flossie Wright descended from the plane and saw the crowd wearing thick coats, she broke out in a cold sweat.
Fortunately, Rowdy Brightwill was quite considerate and had brought out winter coats in advance. Without saying a word, he handed one to Flossie Wright. Then, despite wearing only a white long-sleeved t-shirt in such cold weather, he led the way through the crowd out of the airport. His good looks and attractive profile immediately attracted a lot of attention from female passengers. Many of them secretly took photos of him, looking at him as though he were a celebrity. As for Flossie Wright, she could only resign herself to being his humble assistant in the limelight.
"Mr. Brightwill, Miss Wright!"
Not long after they stepped outside, a black sedan stopped in front of them. A middle-aged driver emerged from the car and waved at them.
Flossie Wright stared at the driver for a while but couldn’t recognize him. She guessed that he must be an employee of the Brightwill family.
However, just as they climbed into the car, the driver asked, "Miss Wright, there is a dinner tonight between the Brightwill and Wright families to discuss your marriage with young Mr. Brightwill. Would you like to return to the Wright residence, or go directly to the Brightwill family home?"
