However, she had hardly taken a few steps when a figure loomed closer beside her, "I’ll go with you."
Flossie Wright paused her steps slightly.
As soon as Glenn Hutchinson had finished speaking, he casually draped his arm around her shoulder.
Turning her head, Flossie saw the smile on Glenn’s face. Feeling his grasp on her shoulder tighten, she struggled twice unsuccessfully before finally resigning herself to being led outside by him.
From the outside looking in, they just like a sweet young couple. The female waiter who had just served them tea watched them leave with wide eyes. Almost subconsciously, she trembled, then suddenly imagining something, she ran outside quickly only to lose sight of them in the blink of an eye.
Are they trying to dine and dash?
The corners of the waitress’s mouth twitched. Clinging to a tiny bit of hope, she returned to their table and, upon seeing several Red Banknotes left behind, she released a sigh of relief as they were more pleasurable to her eyes than a handsome man.
Indeed, the more handsome they are, the less flawed they seem.
Upon leaving the warmth of the Coffee House, she was met with a sharp cold wind. Flossie Wright wrapped her scarf around her a few more times to block the wind. But the cold seeped into her bones, making her feel uncomfortable with an aching pain.
"Where to?"
Glenn Hutchinson asked softly, with no intention of removing the arm around her shoulder. His slightly turned body blocked some of the chilling wind.
With a languid glance around, Flossie replied nonchalantly, "On a date apparently."
If Glenn Hutchinson was willing to help her by pretending to be together with her, she would take full advantage of the situation. She benefited anyway, no matter if he was serving as a laborer or an ATM.
And like that, they were wandering aimlessly in the cold wind. They only entered shops when they started to feel cold while the ones secretly following them suffered quite a bit. Not only did they endure the harsh weather, but they also needed to find ways to not disrupt their ’date’, leading them to suffer both physically and emotionally more than the actual ’couple’.
"Who are they?"
Walking in the street with a few pieces of clothing that Flossie had bought at random, Glenn glanced at Flossie who had draped a shawl around her. He naturally grabbed her cold hand, ignoring the icy glare she gave him in return.
Leaning casually against Glenn, Flossie tried to portray herself as someone deeply in love while her eyes darted around. She replied nonchalantly, "I don’t know."
She genuinely had no clue, but why they were following her was easy to guess.
She deliberately let the shadow in last night to find the book. Although she acted like she had merely stumbled upon a thief, she didn’t inform anyone about the incident was indeed suspicious.
Based on past experiences, the moment she leaves her room without her bodyguard’s supervision, someone would take the book she left on the table and remove the pages just like they did the previous night.
However, this didn’t alleviate the suspicion directed towards her, and for the sake of precaution, they likely sent people to tail her.
She and Glenn had toyed with them for quite a while and even gave them multiple opportunities, but they never made a move. She guessed the orders they received were only to monitor, not to attack.
"The reason."
Rather than drilling down on the matter, Glenn was more interested in knowing what Flossie knew.
