"That’s no excuse," Perry Reed’s face fell, "With your skills, there are many places you could go."
"That’s my business." Flossie Wright replied indifferently.
She chose to come here, but not even she knew why.
In this country with so many Forces, if she had wanted to be a soldier, there would have been many better places to go, yet she had suddenly decided to come here, without even knowing the reason herself.
"So?" His voice rose slightly, Perry Reed’s gaze hardened.
Her indifferent expression suddenly changed, and Flossie Wright’s eyebrows lifted, her mood seemingly lightened as she suddenly asked, "Hungry?"
"Don’t change the subject!" Perry Reed’s face darkened.
"I’m hungry." Flossie Wright said expressionlessly.
"..." Perry Reed’s eyes narrowed fiercely.
"Do you want to keep standing here with me, looking for an opportunity to ’get me out,’ to be at each other’s throats from now on..." She paused, then continued leisurely, "Or shall we sit down nicely, let me have a good meal first, and then talk about what comes next?"
As she spoke, Flossie Wright’s eyelids lifted, her clear eyes concealing deep meaning, "Besides, I’ve been in the rain for eight hours."
The gloom in Perry Reed’s eyes faded away significantly in that instant.
Almost instinctively, Perry Reed reached out his hand to her forehead, and after not feeling an abnormally high temperature, he withdrew his hand and casually grabbed her shoulder with his other hand.
"Go sit down and behave."
Perry Reed ordered sternly as he brought Flossie Wright to the bonfire inside the cave.
He seemed to be somewhat annoyed.
Then, he snatched the fish and the snake from Flossie Wright’s hands.
Flossie Wright touched her nose.
It seemed-

Playing pitiful was quite effective?
Removing her cold military cap, Flossie Wright took a few steps in front of the bonfire, then sat down on the rock Perry Reed had been using earlier.
She started to feed the fire for warmth.
Her coat was waterproof, but the rain had been too fierce, getting through every gap, soaking her completely. Flossie Wright found it cumbersome and simply took off her coat to dry it beside the fire.
She also stuck a tree branch into the ground beside the bonfire and placed her cap on top of it.
Just as she finished, Perry Reed spoke up, and his coat flew over the bonfire directly towards her.
Flossie Wright instinctively caught it with her hand.
The outside of the coat was a bit wet, but the inside had not been soaked, it was actually quite warm.
Feeling quite cold at that moment, Flossie Wright draped the coat over her shoulders.
A bird, unknown to God when it had arrived, settled stably on her shoulder.
Flossie Wright ignored it.
She added two more pieces of wood to the bonfire, and when Flossie Wright glanced at the nearby firewood, she casually said to Perry Reed, "We’re running low on firewood."
"I’ll gather some."
Perry Reed replied stiffly.
He selected two slim sticks from the pile and sharpened one end with his Dagger, then skewered the processed fish and snake on them, setting them above the fire to roast.
After doing all this, Perry Reed coolly swept a glance at Flossie Wright.
She was sitting opposite him, hugging her knees. The leaping flames reflected in her clear eyes seemed to hold back all light, dazzlingly bright.
Yet, due to the cold, her complexion was pale, and even her exposed hands were unnaturally white.
Purely from the cold.
In that moment, his originally hard heart softened a touch unconsciously.
"Wait for me to come back."
