In a hurry, Willie Ash spilled everything and successfully dug a hole for himself.
"Lead the way."
Flossie Wright’s tone was slightly cold.
Willie nodded helplessly.
He led the way in front.
Flossie followed behind him, took just a few steps, and seeing Bennett Family’s Bennet about to follow, instructed, "You go ahead with your work, I’ll be back."
"Okay, then."
Bennett frowned, hesitatingly nodded.
It seemed Flossie was quite worried about the person bitten by the snake.
Although he wanted to follow, fearing something might happen to Flossie, he wisely chose not to add to Flossie’s troubles at this time.
Watching Flossie leave, Bennett furrowed his brow tighter, his expression slightly solemn.
"Hey, Bennett Family’s handsome guy, what’s up, got a crush on her?"
A young nurse walked by, noticing Bennett’s downcast eyes, and teased him with a laugh.
"No, no way!"
Face reddening, Bennett stammered in denial.
"Pfft," the young nurse immediately burst into laughter, glanced at him a few times, and finally shook her head, saying, "Just kidding, don’t take it seriously. But..."
After a brief pause, the young nurse leaned in again, smiling, "If you like her, go for her. You’re so handsome, and she’s so pretty, you two match well. She won’t be staying here long, so seize the opportunity!"
Bennett awkwardly ran his fingers through his hair.
The young nurse didn’t make it hard for him either, and left with the file in her hands.
Under Willie’s guidance, Flossie found Belinda Nichols’s hospital room.
The room was for two, but only Belinda was there, with the other bed unoccupied for the moment.
As the door opened, the still-sleeping Belinda immediately opened her eyes.
There was no trace of sleepiness in her eyes.
Seeing Flossie and Willie, her expression remained calm and devoid of any surprise.
"Awake, huh," Willie said, holding a thermos bucket, "Just in time, there’s extra porridge, enough for both of you."
Willie was purely there to run errands.
The porridge was specially cooked by Joshua Bailey, prepared in two portions and two bowls, seemingly for Flossie and Belinda.
Now that both were present, Willie wouldn’t need to make another trip to Flossie’s room.
"Leave the porridge, you can go now."
Watching Willie divvy up the porridge into two bowls, Flossie said to him.
"But you guys..."
Willie turned, looked at her, then at Belinda.
Flossie’s shoulder was injured, better not to move her right hand, meaning only one hand was free, and as for Belinda, who had been through much last night, her body was surely weak.
"I can." Belinda spoke up directly, dispelling Willie’s concerns.
"I have a hand."
Flossie followed suit.
Either of them would feel extremely awkward being fed porridge by Willie.
"Alright, alright, fine."
Willie replied helplessly.
Since they decided so, he might as well do as told.
"Take care, no send-off."
Flossie quickly added.
Willie’s face darkened a bit.
Not even a chance to catch his breath?
But, alas, with patients as priority, he’d better make a swift exit.
"Delayed on the road a bit, now the porridge is just the right temperature. Remember to eat it quickly."
Before leaving, Willie made a point to remind the two of them.
Finally, amidst Belinda and Flossie’s indifferent reactions, he vanished swiftly without a trace.
Before disappearing, he made sure to shut the door for them.
Belinda propped herself up, sitting on the bed with a pillow behind her.
Being bitten by a venomous snake isn’t a big issue once the danger is passed.
It’s just due to little rest, Belinda’s body was slightly weak.
With her constitution, she was relatively okay.
Flossie carried the filled porridge over.
Handed one bowl to Belinda, placed the other on the bedside table.
"What’s happening?"
Sitting by the table, Flossie swirled the spoon in the bowl of porridge with her left hand, then asked Belinda.
"Bit by a snake."
Belinda answered truthfully.
Raising her eyebrows, Flossie gazed at her intently.
She already learned from Willie about Belinda’s snake bite incident, but Belinda wasn’t someone careless. Such a negligent mistake as a snake sneaking into the confined tent, was unlikely for her.
"I caught the snake." Belinda responded calmly.
Implying she caught the snake herself and intentionally let it bite her.
"Why?" Flossie furrowed her brows.
"Couldn’t take a leave."
Belinda looked at her faintly, offering no concealment.
Unable to take a leave, she got herself hospitalized to meet her.
Flossie fell silent immediately.
"What about your training?" Flossie asked, helplessly.
She already knew about the training schedule, one day of rest after every field survival training.
With Belinda now hospitalized, unless discharged for training tomorrow, she’d be in the same situation as Flossie.
"I don’t care."
With a calm demeanor, Belinda maintained her tone.
Training or not, staying or not, it had never been in Belinda’s consideration.
If not for Flossie’s arrival here, she probably wouldn’t have agreed to come either.
After this training ended, stories about Flossie circulated fervently among trainees, and they heard about Darion Griffin seeking help from Harris Caleb on Flossie’s behalf.
Everything’s been tried.
And, no meaning.
Might as well come to see Flossie’s situation.
Putting down the spoon in her hand, Flossie looked at her speechlessly.
Never thought Belinda would cause any trouble, but now realizing...
She’s quite stubborn!
Tormenting herself for fun?
But, seeing Belinda’s determined look, Flossie rubbed her forehead, feeling a bit at a loss whether to laugh or cry.
Since things are like this, reprimanding her is useless.
"I’ll feed you."
Standing up, Flossie went over and took Belinda’s spoon.
"I can do it." Belinda reached out to reclaim the spoon.
Flossie shot her a warning glance.
Belinda looked up at her.
Expression unchanged.
After a moment, she coolly responded, "...Okay."
