"Flossie Wright, Jessie Grain, come out with me for a moment!"
As she spoke, Nancy Phillips’ gaze swept around the dormitory.
"What’s up?"
Still organizing her things, Jessie Grain poked her head out from the wardrobe and looked toward Nancy Phillips.
She appeared quite at ease.
Naturally, given the current situation, she ought to be.
In terms of military rank, Nancy Phillips was a one-bar, one-star officer, a far cry from Jessie Grain with no so-called military officer’s pressure.
As far as status was concerned, Nancy Phillips was no longer an instructor, but a formal team member just like all of them.
There was no reason for Nancy Phillips to feel superior.
Accordingly, Jessie Grain’s demeanor was quite relaxed, lacking the subconscious fear that other recruits felt when facing an instructor.
"The Captain wants to see us, we’ll talk outside."
After glancing at her, Nancy Phillips explained calmly.
"Right now?" Jessie Grain looked up.
"You want the Captain to wait for you?" Nancy Phillips countered.

Thinking it over, Jessie Grain shrugged her shoulders and set aside the clothes in her hands.
At that moment, Flossie Wright also came over.
Rowdy Brightwill leaned against the door, his deep eyes observing Nancy Phillips.
The two had known each other for three years, usually had a decent relationship, and shared some common interests and hobbies as they interacted quite a bit.
He was familiar with Nancy Phillips.
Ever since Jessie Grain and Flossie Wright had the shooting competition, and Rowdy Brightwill "misunderstood" Nancy Phillips, their relationship had cooled significantly.
Rowdy Brightwill had no intention of mending their relationship, so the stiff attitude remained.
He didn’t think much of Nancy Phillips speaking sternly to others, but now that Flossie Wright was involved, it made him a bit uncomfortable.
But these were trifles, and it was not his place to interfere, so he left ahead of them.
Out of sight, out of mind.
Captain Peng was waiting for them outside the dormitory building.
When Nancy Phillips led the two over, Captain Peng was reviewing a bunch of documents, and her expression softened noticeably, a hint of a smile at the corners of her eyes, when she saw them approaching from a distance.
Nancy Phillips called out to her as they walked up.
"Captain Peng."
Jessie Grain said with a light smile, greeting Captain Peng.
Standing to the side, Flossie Wright remained silent, not uttering a word.
"Now that you’re all here," Captain Peng lowered the documents she was holding and stood in front of them, "here’s the thing, Jessie Grain and Flossie Wright, I’ve reviewed both your files. One is a sniper trained professionally, the other a sharpshooter with potential and willing to become a sniper. I want to ask both of you, now that you’re here, do you still want to be snipers?"
"I do," Jessie Grain responded immediately.
Flossie gave a subdued nod.
Her nonchalant manner earned her a sharp look from Nancy Phillips.
For some reason, every time she stood beside Flossie Wright, Nancy Phillips could pinpoint something unlikeable about her.
Looking straight ahead, Flossie didn’t bother about her.
"Alright then," Captain Peng smiled, seemingly unaffected by their lukewarm response, and continued, "In a while, the other recruits will be participating in a 25-week sea training, but the three of you are an exception. You’ll stay behind to train as snipers."
"Three of us?" Jessie Grain asked, glancing at the two beside her.
"Yes, Nancy Phillips is also a sniper," Captain Peng replied with a smile.
Nancy Phillips glanced at the two of them subtly.
If she hadn’t had some real skill, she wouldn’t have become their instructor.
