Meanwhile, pieces of a broken bowl flew from midair toward Flossie Wright and her companions’ table. Just when they were about to fall, another pair of chopsticks unexpectedly appeared, abruptly holding the fragments in mid-air.
Glenn Hutchinson’s eyes seemed to hold a slight chill, his hand holding the chopsticks barely moved. The clamped shard followed the same trajectory back, crashing directly onto the foot of that man. Amid the silence following the loud noise, the clear sound of the porcelain striking the floor was particularly noticeable.
Many astonished gazes were drawn over, each trying to get a clear look at the amazing individual who executed this action. However, what they saw was an individual with a divine aura, carrying an enigmatic gloominess, a deeply chiseled face, and a pair of dark eyes like a cool pool. Against the background of the night outside, his silhouette reflected vaguely on the glass, making him irresistibly intriguing. His stunning attractiveness made many of the women who saw him for the first time want to scream.
In this appearance-oriented world, the buzz did not hold as much appeal as the trio at the table - two incredibly good-looking men of different types and a woman whose attractiveness was just as heart-stopping. They were so pleasing to the eye that one would not want to look away.
No alternative, they were genuinely handsome!
However, this pure admiration and infatuation were quickly disrupted when that spoilsport of a man erupted with a roar that could shatter eardrums, "All of you, move!"
Without anyone noticing, several waiters and customers had gathered around the scene. Some brave individuals even stepped in front of the man. If it weren’t for their fear of the man’s bulging muscles, he would have probably been dragged out by now.
What a nuisance! Coming here just to cause trouble! How are people supposed to conduct business with him here?!
The other two people at the man’s table, one male and one female, seemed to be his wife and her lover. The woman clung tightly to her lover’s clothes, hiding fearfully behind him. When faced with the intimidating man, she barely dared to look at him. Upon closer examination, one could see scars all over her body, some deep and some shallow, revealing a history of severe domestic violence.
The lover, smaller than the man by an entire size, would certainly stand no chance in a head-to-head confrontation. But, he faced the man’s fury unflinchingly, resolutely shielding the woman behind him.
"Since you don’t love her anyway, why not let her go?"
In comparison to the man’s rage, the lover was noticeably calmer. He asked with forced composure, yet he held no hope for the man.
The initial plan was to sit down and clarify the situation with the man, and then engage in reasonable discussion. The man treated domestic violence as a daily routine, speaking kindly when in a good mood, but becoming violent at the slightest provocation. Even his own child was not spared, driving the woman to despair, which, in turn, made her seek warmth elsewhere.
Domestic violence, extramarital affairs - both are at fault, both finding reasons to justify their actions. No wonder the conversation turned ugly.
What woman, who suffers daily beatings from her husband till she’s lost all hope, would choose to stay?
What man, seeing his wife confronting him with another man, wouldn’t be angry?
Even under such tense circumstances, even Rowdy Brightwill wanted to intervene, aiming to prevent the inevitable clash. But Flossie Wright and Glenn Hutchinson were still nonchalantly enjoying their meal as if everything happening around them was just theatre, with nothing worth attracting their attention.
