"Did you break up?"
Her hand wrapped around Becca Reyes’ back, grasping her arm; Flossie Wright chuckled softly and posed the question.
"What are you trying to do?!"
Cherry Hamilton was bewildered and extremely irritated.
"It seems you didn’t break up..." She chuckled lowly, Flossie Wright slightly tilted her head, a smile mixed with coldness in her eyes as she spoke deliberately, "Say it, you broke up with him."
Her tone was bland, yet laced with an essence of commands and coercion.
"..." Cherry Hamilton first gasped in shock, then suppressed her rage, and through gritted teeth she sharply retorted, "Flossie Wright, since when is it your place to meddle in my affairs with him?!"
With an even colder glint in her eyes, Flossie Wright stared at her and enunciated clearly, "I told you to say you’re breaking up with him."
Unexpectedly, a shiver went through her heart, and the chill struck.
Cherry Hamilton sensed an extraordinary sense of danger from the woman beside her, an immensely oppressive aura emanating from her.
She swallowed hard.
With her hair standing on end, Cherry Hamilton paused for a brief moment before mustering the courage to shout, "Fine, we’ll break up, I never cared about him anyway!"
She still had her pride.
At the very least, she wanted to salvage some reputation.
Moreover, she truly felt, deep down, that there was no need for her to further pursue anything with Calvin Ramos.
That cold and mysterious man, with his mesmerizing allure, but once truly ensnared, it’s an irreversible doom.
She wouldn’t fall that deep.
In the distance, Calvin Ramos stood in the night, not even frowning upon hearing the commotion.
Flossie Wright smiled lightly, patted Cherry Hamilton on the shoulder, and then released her, shrugging and saying, "Let’s go."
Cherry Hamilton took a few more glances at her.
Then, with a long exhale, she turned and walked away.
It didn’t matter; she was tired of the drama.
Watching her leave, Flossie Wright withdrew her gaze and then slowly paced up to Calvin Ramos.
"Calvin Ramos?"
With her hands in her pockets, Flossie Wright raised her eyebrows slightly, her tone lifting with a hint of puzzlement.
With his eyes downcast, Calvin Ramos acknowledged her, responding flatly, "Yes."
"Congratulations," she tilted her head, a smile in her eyes, "you’ve been dumped again."
"..." Calvin Ramos was silent for a moment but didn’t seem to care as he directly addressed the matter, "What do you want?"
"What are you trying to do?"
Looking up at him, Flossie Wright’s tone was slightly cold.
With a flicker in his eyes, Calvin Ramos spoke solemnly, "As you suspect."
Smirking, Flossie Wright snorted, her words neither warm nor cold, "Childish."
"Now, it seems," Calvin Ramos paused and nodded, "Yes."
As Flossie Wright suspected, after being misunderstood by Becca Reyes and breaking up, he deliberately dated Cherry Hamilton, only to make Becca Reyes give up hope.
The reason was simple.
He had two souls.
One wanted to protect her, the other wanted to hurt her.
So, no matter how hard he tried, Becca Reyes was destined to get hurt.
To hurt someone is much easier than to protect them.
That night, when he had chosen to cooperate with Cherry Hamilton, it wasn’t truly him, and when he appeared later, he was met with a "breakup," thus he decided to cut his losses and end things cleanly.
Pretending to like someone was not that simple.
He didn’t know how Flossie Wright found out, but he was certain—
"What methods did you use..." Flossie Wright pondered and finally found the right words to ask, "to share memories?"
"Notes," Calvin Ramos acknowledged unhesitatingly, "We tell each other what happened."
