The sky was still dark.
The entire Base, all was quiet.
Behind them was the front door of the Office Building, ahead were two streetlights illuminating the gravel road, allowing them to have a clear view.
"Go in and tell the Captain," Drake Easton said after a pause, beginning to make his way inside.
After the incident at the amusement park yesterday, they rushed back. On one hand, they weren’t involved in the disturbance, on the other hand, they wanted to donate.
The call was made in front of the Office Building.
There had been no news from Flossie Wright since the trouble at the Pub, so the Captain asked Rowdy Brightwill to get up in the middle of the night and check on Flossie if nothing else was going on.
Woken up unexpectedly, Drake Easton, after understanding the situation, accompanied Rowdy Brightwill.
After all...
Flossie Wright used to be his soldier, too.
"Wait a moment."
Quickly pacing to Drake Easton’s side, Rowdy Brightwill grabbed his arm.
Drake Easton watched Rowdy Brightwill, his expression stiff, "What’s the matter?"
"Uh," Rowdy Brightwill opened his mouth, recollecting his attempt to explain his confusing thoughts earlier, he then let out a defeated sigh, "Nothing, let’s go in first."
Drake Easton was visibly confused.
However, he didn’t question further.
He turned around and walked into the building.
Rowdy Brightwill silently followed behind him.
Raising his eyes, watching Drake Easton walk down the brightly lit hallway, Rowdy Brightwill narrowed his eyes.
He and Winsley Scott joined at the same time, Drake Easton was their Instructor then.
Stern, inflexible, indifferent, and ruthless.
Back then, everyone despised him deeply, wishing to grind him to dust. But after joining a squad, Drake Easton had helped him and even saved his life on several occasions.
He’s a reliable Veteran Soldier.
Just a moment ago, he considered asking Drake Easton, while he was trying to explain the situation to Flossie Wright, if they could voluntarily ask to participate in Vernon’s rescue mission.
He was being impulsive.
Every soldier has a unique purpose, that’s why there are different types of soldiers.
If they were needed, they definitely wouldn’t be here now.
Never mind.
There’s no rush.
He’s still young and has plenty of time to prove himself.
At nine in the morning.
Flossie Wright was awakened by the "banging" of a knock on the door.
The room was still dim, and it was raining heavily outside. The sound of rain hitting the glass windows echoed loudly in the room.
She was feeling groggy.
Rubbing her forehead, Flossie Wright got out of bed.
And opened the door.
Marcel Smith was standing outside.
Wearing a brown T-shirt with a hoodie and sports shorts, on his feet were flip-flops.
Utterly unmatched.
His short hair, growing in clumps on his head, resembled dry grass.
"What is it?"
Leaning against the door, Flossie Wright lazily looked at him.
"You’re sleeping in my bed, what can it be?" Marcel Smith grumbled, scratching his head, "Clean up a bit, it’s time for us to eat."
She responded indifferently, nodding her head slightly.
She walked past him, preparing to freshen up.
After a moment, Marcel Smith’s eyes widened in sudden realization.
The moment he woke up, he went to wake Flossie Wright up, intending to pick a bone with her, but she responded so calmly and even left him behind.
As clarity returned to his mind, Marcel Smith twitched a corner of his mouth, and stubbornly followed her.
The hotel, of course, had all the necessary disposables.
And there were double the quantity on top of that.
Flossie Wright was brushing her teeth.
Marcel Smith followed, brushing his teeth beside her.
