Since there were weaknesses, the solution was simple: overcome them. She could stay, but did not like the thought of being held back in the future for such reasons.
The door to the Dormitory was gently closed.
Lying on her side, facing the wall, Flossie Wright’s eyes suddenly snapped open.
In her long, beautiful eyes flashed a faint emotion.
At six o’clock in the afternoon, Flossie Wright got up.
After eating at the cafeteria, she didn’t return for the rest of the night.
Jessie Grain usually came back late herself. After turning off the lights, taking a shower, and getting back into bed, she realized Flossie Wright wasn’t on her bed at all.
Where had she gone?
Jessie Grain had no idea.
Apart from training and missions, Jessie Grain had scarcely interacted with Flossie Wright inside the Dormitory and was unaware of her habits.
It wasn’t until around eight o’clock the next morning, after Jessie Grain had eaten and returned to check the Dormitory, that she found Flossie Wright, who had just taken a shower and was drying her hair.
"Where did you go?"
Standing in the doorway, Jessie Grain frowned at Flossie Wright and couldn’t help but ask.
After a brief pause, Flossie Wright glanced at her and replied succinctly, "Training."
The corner of Jessie Grain’s mouth twitched slightly.
It wasn’t that she didn’t believe her, but on Flossie Wright’s computer desk were many bags, their contents unknown, but Jessie Grain was certain that Flossie Wright couldn’t possibly have acquired these bags just from training at the Base.
"Oh," noticing her gaze, Flossie Wright spoke lazily, "I also took a little trip out."
A little trip...
Her gaze lingering on her, Jessie Grain looked at Flossie Wright’s composed face and her brow twitched slightly, her query almost speechless with incredulity, "A little trip?"
Flossie Wright responded indifferently, tossing the towel over the back of a chair.
Then she began to sort through the bags.
A single outing had exhausted her three-month allowance to the last penny.
If it hadn’t been for the free meals at the cafeteria, she reckoned she would be relying on charity going forward.
After pulling out two books, Flossie Wright remembered Jessie Grain and looked at her sideways, explaining, "Besides the main gate, there’s no fence on the mountain-side of the Base; just taking a detour gets you to town."
A detour gets you to town?
Such a casual explanation made Jessie Grain feel embarrassed just thinking about it.
They were always running on the mountain, every corner was Training Ground, their control over the terrain was crystal clear; they also knew that taking a detour from the mountain could lead to the towns outside.
It was definitely not as simple as "taking a detour."
Navigating the mountain took a regular person roughly two hours.
Round trip, at least four hours.
For them, the round trip would take a minimum of over two hours, plus the variety of things Flossie Wright needed to buy...
No wonder she hadn’t returned all night!
Jessie Grain was left speechless and stared at Flossie Wright for a while before shaking her head and heading back out to continue training.
Flossie Wright organized her things.
The shopping trip was a facade; the items were miscellaneous and not the real purpose – she mainly wanted to clear her mind and see the long-missed city.
In fact, she had gone not to the town, but to the bustling city center.
She had spent basically the entire evening there.

But it didn’t interfere with her training; changing into a new outfit, fighting a few bouts, also counted as training.
After putting away the items from the bags, Flossie Wright looked in the mirror at her haircut into short, choppy layers, raised her eyebrows slightly, reached for the hat hanging on the cabinet door, and placed it on her head.
