Sandy Cruz came by from time to time to "take care of" her and incidentally "taunt" Mariana Buck, stirring up discussions among the other trainees behind their backs.
So, Mariana Buck grew fierce.
During their bouts, Flossie Wright clearly felt that Mariana Buck held nothing back. Previously, they were evenly matched, but now, Mariana’s relentless barrage of attacks almost forced Flossie to use different techniques.
With her fighting skills, she could only just manage to resist.
As a result, the bruises on both of them increased.
The saving grace was—
Rowdy Brightwill had them practice other things.
Practicing Falling Skill, arm skills, leg skills, mastering bayonet fighting, military boxing, prisoner capture boxing, and grappling techniques...
No longer was the training a mere bout of confrontations.
At the same time, the difficulty increased exponentially.
The difficulty of shooting and diving training was increasing as well, but luckily, Flossie had full control over these two areas and didn’t expend too much energy in training. It was the other physical endurance exercises that really caused her hardship.
Rowdy Brightwill was dissatisfied.
Why should Flossie be bruised all over under his watch while excelling in shooting and diving?!
Thus, he’d gripe at Flossie Wright daily during Combat Training.
Seriously specializing!
Rowdy Brightwill was helpless, and so was Flossie Wright.
But, there was nothing to be done about it.
Early April.
Out of 359 people, only 167 remained.
new recruits and 128 veteran soldiers were left.
Among them, Flossie Wright’s team had 10 left, Calvin Ramos’s team had 29 left.
Jessie Grain’s team had 55 left, and Sandy Cruz’s team had 73 left.
The total number was less than half.
After enduring rigorous training, those left seemed to have undergone a transformation, but there was still more brutal training ahead of them.
That day, at 11:30 p.m.
After completing a 5-kilometer cross-country run, Flossie Wright had just gotten notes from Sandy Cruz and was approaching the Dormitory building when she noticed a crowd gathered at the door of room 102.
A loud, crisp slap rang out.
So, Flossie Wright hesitated for a moment in her steps.
She glanced up.
Since the last time she had dealt with a conflict, there had been no further trouble; Sandy Cruz’s team had been the same.
Standing in the distance, Flossie made out a rough idea of what was happening without thinking much and quickened her pace towards room 102.
As she approached, she heard another series of crisp slaps.
"Stop hitting..."
"Her face is swollen."
"Can’t you talk things out properly?!"
"I’m so done with you guys. You’re exhausted every day and still have the energy to quarrel."
More and more people gathered around.
Flossie Wright stood on the periphery and took a few looks inside before she recognized the protagonists of the fight.
One was Cherry Hamilton, and the other looked familiar—a veteran soldier.
And the one who had been slapped twice was the pitiable Cherry Hamilton.
Now, both of them were being held back, Cherry with tears in her eyes, covering her swollen face with her hand, looking incredibly wronged.
The veteran soldier who had just lashed out was being pulled back forcibly by two people, his face full of displeasure and anger, as if he had a deep hatred against Cherry Hamilton.
"You’re finally here."
Becca Reyes sighed and approached Flossie Wright.
Without rushing in, Flossie stood a bit further away and asked, "What happened?"
"Who knows..." Irritably frowning, Becca Reyes paused for a moment, her tone slightly cold, "They’re from the same dormitory; apparently, they have always disliked her ostentatious behavior. Just now, they clashed over a few words, and she seemed very angry, made fun of the veteran’s appearance, and veteran Bi, known for his volatile temper, just lashed out."
