Janice Wood stared at the military blade thrown into her hand, her expression a bit conflicted, but upon the thought that taking something this time wasn’t illegal, she quickly and comfortably accepted it.
"Do we need to go down now?" She naturally noticed the rope on the edge of the cliff and peered curiously down a few times. Startled by the height, she gasped, "It’s so high."
"Here you go." Flossie Wright handed her notebook to Janice Wood without any conscientious objection to cheating.

"You’ve gone down already?" Janice blinked, admiration unconsciously flooding her face. She wanted to take the notebook from Flossie’s hand but hesitated, "But... wouldn’t that be improper?"
This was the "information" that Flossie obtained with great effort. If she accepted it without any trouble, she felt somewhat uneasy. Besides, the squad leaders had repeatedly emphasized the prohibition of cheating before they left. If there were any surveillance or unwanted attention, it would definitely affect Flossie.
"No one will discover us."
Nonchalantly, Flossie flung her notebook, tossing it straight into Janice’s arms.
Allowing all soldiers to believe the squad leaders had guarded precautions and would monitor them at any time, combined with the ambush set on their path, easily made their mission appear complex and that they were under constant surveillance.
However, such concealment wasn’t an effective strategy for Flossie. Precisely because those people were stressing "no cheating" and using ambush as a deterrent, she was confident they wouldn’t monitor them and were just trying to intimidate them.
Even more so, they were only new soldiers. Monitoring them would be an enormous consumption of manpower and resources, too lavish even for a wealthy country.
After some hesitation and looking at the cliff below, Janice ultimately decided to side with Flossie and meticulously copied down the poem.
"Can we really walk together?"
After looking at Flossie’s map and then her own, Janice confirmed they had a common path ahead. However, considering the squad leaders’ repeated warnings, she struggled to overcome this hurdle in her mind.
"Yes," said Flossie holding her gun and then glanced at the canteen on the ground, casually saying, "If you’re unwilling, take the water and go."
Flossie wasn’t insistent on traveling with Janice. She didn’t have the habit of forcing others. She merely offered Janice this choice, assuring her that even if they were together, they wouldn’t be discovered. Whether they chose to move together completely depended on Janice’s decision.
"I, I’ll follow you."
Janice bent down to pick up the water canteen, swiftly came beside Flossie, her face immediately became full of determination from its previous uncertainty.
The path ahead was smooth without ambushes. With Flossie’s seized compressed biscuits and water, the two cut down the time searching for food and water sources. They almost reached the fourth mark just by nightfall.
"Let’s rest nearby tonight."
After finding a relatively open area of land, Janice listlessly stretched, giving no indication to continue onwards.
Even though they were moving so fast, they still had to stay there for three days. Hence, it was better to play by the rules. Ever since hanging around with Flossie, that slight sense of competitiveness in Janice was ground down completely.
"Alright." Flossie nodded slightly in agreement.
However, before she could set down her backpack, Janice immediately leaned over, pointing to the far-off hills, "Huh, Flossie, isn’t that someone over there?"
Flossie squinted in doubt, and with the dim light, she could see the soldiers standing on the far-off hill on lookout, their manly posture carrying a definitive characteristic.
Flossie raised an eyebrow, recalling what those two Marines had said earlier in the day. The Marine Corps and Glenn Hutchinson’s team were in a race to see who could rescue the heavily guarded captives at the fastest speed.
Could it be... they were hidden here?
She shifted her fingers and laughed, giving a sly look at Janice, "Feel like stretching your muscles?"
