In her opinion, Flossie Wright was the type who rarely resisted training. She could endure even the most grueling training imposed by Captain Glenn Hutchinson, without uttering a single word of complaint. During yesterday’s armed swimming drill, she dove into the water without hesitation despite having an injured hand. Consequently, her wound got infected and festered by nightfall.

She had never expressed any grievances, and remained steadfast throughout her training journey.
But now, she truly didn’t want to continue.
Yet she still felt nonchalant, for, in her view, it was simply a matter of going or not going.
Each time Flossie did something out of the ordinary, it evoked a strange feeling at least as far as Becca Reyes was concerned. Flossie had her own set of standards for everything and never complained. She adapted easily to any circumstances. Furthermore, everything she did seemed justified, because she always carried out her tasks with an exceptionally calm demeanor, as if... she could do anything she set her mind to.
"Heh, think you can get special treatment just because you’re in the cooking class? You’re really courting death!"
Unluckily, standing right in front of Flossie and Becca were the two soldiers who had come to pick a fight after running five-kilometers cross-country. Both of them had been keeping an eye on their movements and didn’t miss a word they spoke. With a stern warning, the two soldiers turned around and approached them.
"Suit yourselves."
Becca shrugged indifferently and responded.
The soldier beside her shot them a few fierce glares, nudged her comrade slightly, and whispered soothingly, "Ignore them. Let’s see how Instructor Foster will teach them a lesson."
The soldier who had previously taken a tumble simply sneered and without hesitation, turned around and began imitating the forces in doing the duck walk up ahead.
Watching as the two soldiers before them slowly walked away, Becca lifted her hand to her mouth and leaned towards Flossie’s ear, asking in a lowered voice, "What do we do when Foster gets here?"
Usually, Becca considered herself unafraid of any challenges, but each time she saw Flossie, she felt somewhat inferior. Like now, with Flossie standing relaxed as if nothing had happened, while Becca was already considering how to deal with the ill-tempered and obnoxious Nathan Foster.
However, in the end, it was just a matter of punishment.
Noticing a swiftly approaching figure out of the corner of her eye, Flossie glanced lazily at Becca and said nonchalantly, "It’s fine."
Becca was taken aback.
Did she actually have a plan to avoid being punished by Nathan Foster while still skipping that damn duck walk?
Her doubt grew, yet just before she asked for clarification, she heard a steadily approaching roar:
"You two, what are you standing there for?!"
Amid the waves of recruits starting the duck walk, Flossie and Becca, who hadn’t moved an inch, appeared particularly conspicuous. When Nathan Foster noticed their lack of movement, he quickly realized what was up. With an annoyed huff, he began walking over at a brisk pace, as if he’d be right in front of them in a blink.
Meanwhile, the two soldiers walking ahead in the duck walk, their faces contorted, glanced back in unison, revealing an ugly smirk filled with schadenfreude.
Since Flossie and Becca wanted to bite the hand that feeds, they might as well sit back and enjoy the show.
Becca steeled herself and stared straight ahead towards Nathan Foster. But before she could get a clear look at his hellish face, she noticed a figure darting in front of Foster. The swift movement almost resulted in a direct collision with Foster.
