They’re just a few kittens, why bother about them?
Glenn Hutchinson was about to discuss something with him, naturally, he nodded in agreement.
And Flossie Wright, who didn’t need anything, he naturally took her away.
As for Merry Otiz’s group, they didn’t breathe easy until the three of them left. The pressure they’d been feeling dissolved instantly. Grady Wright, whose throat was sore from crying without anybody paying him any attention, finally desisted from crying, standing on the side, heaving sobs but without saying a word.
"Benjamin Murphy, what’s wrong?"
Helen Wright had just eased her worries when she turned her head and saw Benjamin Murphy’s long face. His gaze was intently fixed on the direction where Glenn Hutchinson and others had left. He seemed somewhat worried and restless, so she couldn’t help but ask.
"We are doomed," Benjamin Murphy uttered, his face pale. He subconsciously licked his dry lips, his restless worry growing thicker. He spoke gloomily to Merry Otiz and Helen Wright, "That man who was just here, he’s the boss of this shopping centre. If Flossie Wright and others say even a few bad words about us, I’m done for, my shop won’t be able to survive here."
This location was in bustling part of the city where the shopping centre was newly built, but it had been drawing heavy footfall. This was the booming phase. Benjamin Murphy had simply rented a few shops here, selling luxury goods made him mega bucks. He didn’t have to worry about anything at all.
But who would have thought that he would provoke a friend of the boss of this shopping centre over a casual outing? He could hardly believe such a ludicrous incident could ever happen.
Just my rotten luck!
"How could the boss be so young?" Merry Otiz asked incredulously, but a few lines of anxiety appeared on her face too.
The words she had just spoken were indeed a bit harsh, driven to the wall, she had no other option. But if Flossie Wright harbour a grudge against them... No, they definitely would. And if they stooped so low as to complain to the boss, they really might jeopardize Benjamin Murphy’s source of income in this shopping centre.
"He is the heir of the Summerton Group. Currently, most of this group’s business is under his control, and he personally owns this shopping centre," Benjamin Murphy explained, wiping the cold sweat trickling down his forehead, pausing for effect after every word.
As a multinational, the Summerton Group dwarfed other businesses. To the Summertons, money was just a number, everything else was inconsequential. Although the heir to the Summerton appeared frivolous, he possessed genuine capability. He had entered the business at the age of twenty after returning from studying abroad. Within two years, he had become the backbone of the group. Even the hard-core veterans held him in high regard.
Although Benjamin Murphy’s family was large, his own capability allowed him a not-so-significant position in the family business. As the time had come time for him to start a family, he couldn’t keep depending on his family for money. So, he had to find other ways to make money.
This place housed his most profitable outlet. If suddenly his source of income disappeared, the loss he had to deal with...
Benjamin Murphy didn’t even dare to think about it.
"Also," he paused as if recalling something, the uncertainty in his voice was evident, but his tones suddenly dropped more serious, "If the man standing next to Flossie Wright is really a ’Hutchinson’, he might be Glenn Hutchinson from the Hutchinson Family."
Glenn Hutchinson.
Merry Otiz and Helen Wright both twitched at the mention.
If the Summerton family represented the business conglomerate, they had no clue about it. But being a part of the Wright Family, the name "Hutchinson" was as well-known to them as their own.
