Before Glenn Hutchinson arrived, Willie Ash very astutely slipped away.
It hadn’t rained tonight, and it was already late. People were passing by on the trail, and occasionally when a soldier encountered Glenn Hutchinson head-on, they would salute him solemnly.
The Assembly Area was specifically chosen to be in an open field, with ample space on both the front and the rear.
Flossie Wright leaned against a tree, waiting for Glenn Hutchinson to come over.
A short while passed.
He walked up to her and stopped.
The light was dim, and the night hazy.
Having shed his earlier training uniform, Glenn Hutchinson had changed into his regular service uniform.
The army-green service uniform was neatly tailored, with sharp lines that outlined his tall and straight figure.
The uniform was originally serious in nature, lacking the casual convenience of the training attire, making his aura seem cold and solemn. As the cool evening breeze blew head-on, it brought with it a sharp aura.
"What’s up?"
Barely lifting her head, Flossie remained leaning against the tree trunk, her hands crossed in front of her chest as she asked him.
"Are you done with your business?"
Glancing down at her, Glenn Hutchinson spoke faintly, his voice low and rich.
She nodded.
It wasn’t surprising. Having Willie Ash follow her around was definitely his idea. After asking Willie about her whereabouts today, he could always guess something.
Exactly how much could he guess?
You might wonder, ponder, and doubt, but to what extent could he guess?
Yet, Glenn Hutchinson didn’t dwell on the question. Instead, he asked, "When are you leaving?"
"Tomorrow."
With matters like this, Flossie didn’t bother hiding them.
There was a pause, the light in his eyes dimming, and Glenn Hutchinson asked again, "With him?"
"The last time Bard Walker caught you, it was him?"
Shrugging her shoulders, Flossie answered decisively.
His hands, which had been hanging down, clenched tightly. Anger swirled in Glenn Hutchinson’s brows, and his lowered voice carried danger, "How do you know him?"
"Just met on the road," Flossie tilted her head slightly and narrowed her eyes, speaking slowly, "Love at first sight."
"Flossie, Wright."
He pronounced each syllable clearly, and Glenn Hutchinson’s face darkened abruptly.
"You’re saying," she looked up at him, her face indifferent, impervious to persuasion, "I’m all ears."
The distant lamplight faintly fell on her face, casting a cold clarity on her features, with dark, deep eyes. Her expression was indifferent, her brows raised, her demeanor cold and aloof.
She was right in front of him, yet, she felt a thousand miles away.
In that moment, even Glenn Hutchinson couldn’t tell how much truth or falsehood was in her words.
"Not talking?"

Raising an eyebrow, Flossie tilted her head and asked.
With a taut face, Glenn Hutchinson looked down at her. Against the light, the hazy light cast a faint halo behind him, his handsome face shadowed in darkness, but the pressure in his gaze that rested on Flossie only grew heavier.
"Then I’m leaving."
Her heart somewhat in disarray, Flossie furrowed her brows lightly and then straightened up, preparing to walk past him.
Before she could move, a hand was raised to the tree next to her, and the sudden move made her halt in her tracks, leaning back slightly, once again resting against the tree.
"Flossie Wright!"
The figure in front of her approached, and Glenn Hutchinson called out her name in a deep voice, full of fury.
Gathering her composure, Flossie’s face remained calm as she met his intense gaze.
"What’s up?"
As she spoke, Flossie tilted her head slightly.
The sensation of being looked down upon, the oppressive feeling coming head-on, made her feel rather unbalanced inside.
