"I’m going to take a shower first." Flossie Wright said blandly.
"Oh, okay." Rowdy Brightwill nodded.
So, bypassing Rowdy Brightwill, Flossie Wright went upstairs.
Up to the fourth floor, Flossie Wright met several people who seemed inclined to greet her, but at a glimpse of her fierce demeanor, they involuntarily closed their mouths.
When Flossie Wright returned to the dormitory, she remained expressionless.
Until she saw Belinda Nichols, her expression slightly relaxed.
Belinda Nichols was waiting for her in the dormitory.
But as soon as she saw Flossie Wright covered in blood, with a cold aura, she furrowed her brows, thinking for a moment before finally saying, "There’s hot water."
Flossie Wright nodded.
She came to the bedside and unloaded all the weapons on her.
The guns were put in the office, but she had countless small weapons on her: three military knives, wires, fishing lines, ropes, grenades, and a variety of small gadgets, scattered all over the bed.
Then she went to the wardrobe to get clothes and went to shower.
During this time, Belinda Nichols’ gaze remained fixed on her.
Originally standing, Belinda Nichols, for some reason, seemed a bit anxious, pacing the hallway twice before sitting on a stool by the bed. But hearing the shower’s water flow, Belinda Nichols thought for a moment and then sat on the bed.
When Flossie Wright came out, Belinda Nichols seemed to still be standing in place, motionless. The moment she opened the door, Belinda Nichols’ gaze swept towards her.
Flossie Wright paused in her hair-towel-drying motion.
"What’s wrong?"
After a pause, Flossie Wright, knowing well in her heart, asked her a question.
Belinda Nichols also paused.
She stared intently at Flossie Wright for a long time, repeating her words, "What’s wrong?"
Flossie Wright pulled down the towel, shrugged, seeming to respond lightly.
"Something’s wrong."
Belinda Nichols spoke firmly.
Having been in contact with Flossie Wright for so long, she couldn’t possibly be unaware of her situation.
Her expression clearly indicated something was wrong.
Belinda Nichols couldn’t pinpoint it, but she always had a sensitivity towards Flossie Wright.
Flossie Wright thought about it, somewhat headache-inducing.
Quickly, she explained, "I broke up with Glenn Hutchinson."
"He’s better than me, I couldn’t handle it."
Belinda Nichols nodded, extremely distrustful.
She pondered the possibility of this reason.
But, she didn’t say it. Overall, Flossie Wright was indeed strong, but in many individual subjects, there were many stronger than her.
Finally, Belinda Nichols dismissed this hastily concocted excuse.
But she didn’t continue to question Flossie Wright.
Since Flossie Wright could fabricate a lie to brush her off, it showed she didn’t want to talk about it.
If she didn’t want to say, then there was no need to force her.
There was always a feeling that things were just like that.
"Is there food in the canteen?"
Tossing the blood-stained clothes into the trash can, Flossie Wright, as if it were usual, asked Belinda Nichols.
"I brought you one." Belinda Nichols said.
Out of habit, she had brought one for her.
"Hmm." Flossie Wright nodded, then added, "Thanks."
Belinda Nichols didn’t respond, but turned around to take out the meal she brought for Flossie Wright.
Since Flossie Wright didn’t intend to join the gathering, Belinda Nichols didn’t plan to attend the evening party either.
At seven o’clock in the evening, Flossie Wright and Belinda Nichols were the only ones left in the entire dormitory building.
The others were all gathered in the canteen to celebrate this year’s Army Day.
Flossie Wright and Belinda Nichols stayed in the dormitory, playing the last game they would ever collaborate on in their lives.
Until two in the morning, Flossie Wright and Belinda Nichols turned off the computer and prepared to sleep.
"I’ll sleep with you."
Coming back after washing up, Flossie Wright grabbed a quilt and directly came to Belinda Nichols’ bedside.
Belinda Nichols looked at her with confusion, thought about it, then nodded, "Oh."
Which was an agreement.
Flossie Wright lifted the quilt and rolled herself onto the bed, directly occupying most of Belinda Nichols’ territory.
Belinda Nichols remained silent.
Flossie Wright seemed tired; after covering herself with the quilt, she closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep.
However, Belinda Nichols felt a vague unease, tossing and turning on the bed, and only gradually fell asleep at dawn.
When she opened her eyes again, she never saw Flossie Wright’s figure.
She opened her eyes at six thirty.
The dormitory was already bright.
Feeling the emptiness beside her, she almost instinctively rolled over and sat up from the bed.
Flossie Wright’s neatly folded quilt was placed on the opposite bed, with sharp edges and corners, perfectly smooth without a single wrinkle, looking like a textbook illustration.
Every one of her things was arranged neatly, toothbrush, cup, towel, bucket, and basin, all placed according to regulation.
With Flossie Wright’s lazy nature, she had never done this before.
Belinda Nichols looked around the whole dormitory.
Suddenly she had a feeling—
It seemed like she was the only one left in the dormitory.
So, she got out of bed without even wearing shoes, heading straight to Flossie Wright’s wardrobe.
She raised her hand and opened both doors of the wardrobe.
On the top layer were all her weapons and clothes, with seasonal clothes hanging below, plus her gun.
Belinda Nichols knew every item of hers.
The clothes were unchanged, the weapons unchanged, the phone was there, even the military knives were still there.
Both sniper rifles were there, a rifle was not brought back yesterday.
At the very top, her ID card and passport were missing, only a military ID was left behind.
Belinda Nichols’ eyelid twitched.
A sense of loss came over, as if disrupting something.
After a moment.
She closed the door, without saying a word.
