A moment later, Flossie Wright stopped resisting and seized control amidst her fury.
The intense kiss left one of them with a bitten lip, the taste of blood rapidly spreading inside their mouths, filling their senses with the metallic tang.
They parted.
Blood still lingered on the edge of her lips, but in that instant, Flossie held a dagger in her palm, placing it against Glenn Hutchinson’s neck as she pulled away.
"Remember your identity!"
Her breathing somewhat erratic, Flossie tightly furrowed her brow, her eyes full of threatening intent.
She had been outwitted by him again!
The thought alone infuriated Flossie.
The grip around her waist tightened, as Glenn Hutchinson’s hand slightly lifted, taking hold of her hand that was holding the dagger.
A faint smile curved his lips, Glenn Hutchinson lowered his eyes to gaze at her, nearly teasingly he said, "Are you saying that only officials are allowed to start fires?"
"You are an Instructor now," Flossie warned, narrowing her eyes.
"The rules don’t say," Glenn Hutchinson slowly continued, "that an Instructor has to abstain."
Flossie was momentarily at a loss for words.
How would she know their stupid rules?!
"Forget it," after pondering for a moment, Flossie loosened her grip on the dagger, her eyebrows slightly raised with an air of resignation, "consider it tuition."
Anyway, this wasn’t the first or second time.
It was just a matter of who took the initiative.
Flossie had gotten used to it.
"Since you’ve decided to let it go," his voice hoarse, Glenn Hutchinson paused, then took the dagger from her and placed it back at her waist, all the while locking eyes with Flossie, he spoke deliberately, "what did he want with you?"
"What else can it be besides sweet talk and love talk?" Flossie asked in return, her tone nonchalant, a smile playing on her lips.
"Flossie Wright."
Glenn Hutchinson called her, emphasizing his tone.
"What else could it be," Flossie chuckled, prying his fingers off one by one, her demeanor cool, her voice turning cold, "I know nothing about your secrets. If you suspect I’m an Undercover Agent, feel free to investigate anytime."
In an instant, Glenn Hutchinson’s brow twitched, nearly amused to anger by her.
He let her go, falling in line with her wishes.
Flossie’s background had been thoroughly vetted before she was transferred.
Naturally, there was no possibility of her being an "Undercover Agent."
She only said that to intentionally provoke him.
Released from his grip and finally unbound, Flossie wiped the corner of her mouth.
Sure enough, her lower lip had been bitten, and it was inevitably painful.
"I’m leaving."
No longer entangled with Glenn Hutchinson, Flossie glanced at her watch, her expression returning to calm.
It was nearly nine o’clock.
Glenn Hutchinson being held up was no issue, he called the shots, but if she were delayed, she’d undoubtedly be met with a severe scolding.
Approaching her, Glenn Hutchinson took her hand.
The force wasn’t strong, but the warmth in his palm was enough to transfer heat.
"Anything else?" Instinctively, Flossie moved her hand to the dagger.
With a rather serious look, Glenn Hutchinson lowered his gaze to her and said solemnly, "Two pieces of advice."
"Go ahead."
Flossie remained still.
"Stay away from Perry Reed," Glenn Hutchinson enunciated every word.
"How far away?" Flossie raised her eyebrows.
"No contact."
"Impossible," Flossie shrugged, "the second piece of advice?"
"Get along with the others," raising his other hand, Glenn Hutchinson flicked her forehead, his tone carrying a touch of indulgence, "and train well."
"... Depends on the mood."
