Might as well solve his little mood right now.
When Flossie Wright returned, Glenn Hutchinson was uncharacteristically sitting by the table, scribbling something in his notebook.
"Come here."
Just as she paused at the door, Glenn’s voice came through.
In fact, Glenn didn’t even lift his head.
Flossie twirled the cap a few times on her fingers, pondered, then closed the door behind her before stopping beside Glenn.
"Your female soldier profiles."
Glenn stopped writing and pushed the notebook aside.
Flossie pulled a chair over, casually swept up the notebook, and began to flip through it unhurriedly.
All in Glenn’s handwriting, names listed one by one, with detailed introductions. Just a glance, and Flossie could estimate their physical abilities and qualities.
The only pity was that Flossie couldn’t grasp their personalities.
To understand that, at the very least, you have to meet face to face.
"Did the satellite send these?" After skimming through a few, Flossie made time to ask Glenn.
"Yes." Glenn replied, then leaned closer to Flossie, "Fifty-five female soldiers, some you know."
Flossie considered this, sighed, "This number, not very united."
Glenn was taken aback, took a moment to understand, and then a smile crept up his lips, "Including you, it’s exactly fifty-six."
"Thanks for the effort."
Turning a page, Flossie casually offered a greeting.
"An acquaintance..."
With this turn, Flossie’s gaze paused.
Well, well, indeed an acquaintance.
Nancy Phillips, female frogman, sniper, haven’t seen her for a while, it’s... um, kind of missed.
Flossie curled her lips, thinking with a hint of sarcasm.
"You seem quite expectant?" Noticing the subtle change in Flossie’s expression, Glenn asked meaningfully.
"I look forward to seeing everyone." Flossie declared righteously.
"Hope so." Glenn unceremoniously poured cold water.
If she truly anticipated everyone...
She wouldn’t be Flossie Wright.
At most, she’s hoping this selection won’t bring out a bunch of miscellaneous people, which she’d have to clean up after.
As for Nancy Phillips, who once served as Flossie’s instructor for a time, it’s said she was quite targeted towards Flossie. If she really ended up in Flossie’s hands...
That scene, who knows how spectacular it might be.
Thinking of this, Glenn started to worry a little.
"Don’t worry," Flossie lazily began, then glanced at Glenn with a hint of a smile, "I’m not her."
At most, she finds it amusing.
When she was still a trainee, Nancy Phillips, relying on her instructor status, had some biases due to not knowing her, targeting her at times... if their roles really reversed, how Nancy’s expression and thoughts would be, Flossie found rather intriguing.
When it comes to doing things, many times, there’s no need to be too absolute.
Who knows when roles might switch places.
"Becca Reyes didn’t come?" Having read all the profiles in the notebook, Flossie thought of something and asked Glenn again.
As she recalled, right after their selection ended, when chatting with Becca, Becca was deeply struck, vowing to try again.
But Becca’s name was absent from this list.
"She’s preparing to get married." Glenn, who gave some attention to Flossie’s friends, provided an accurate answer.
"Stuart Weston."
"And Calvin Ramos?"
"No idea," Glenn replied, "His illness won’t be cured anytime soon."
"Oh." Flossie nodded, putting down the notebook.
"Finished reading the profiles?" Glenn quietly edged a bit closer.
"Mm." Flossie replied absentmindedly,
"Then shall we..." Glenn’s hand glided over her waist, his face almost touching hers, his husky voice murmuring, "Discuss the ’replenishing energy’ matter, shall we?"
"Er," Flossie paused slightly, her hand quietly lowered, grabbing Glenn’s mischievous hand, then looked at him unchanged, "You wouldn’t be this petty, right?"
"Whether petty or not, depends on where it is."
With that, Glenn directly kissed her lips.
No man could tolerate this kind of dignity-undermining "defamation," absolutely—no, can, endure!
"I still have something to say." Flossie raised her hand to push him away.
However, just as she raised her hand, it was caught by Glenn.
"Go on," Glenn rasped.
Flossie halted, a trace of confusion flashed in her bright dark eyes.
Uh, what was she going to say again?
How distracting beauty can be, it’s simply intolerable!
