Speaking languidly, Flossie Wright twirled the military knife in her palm twice before raising her eyebrows and slipping it back into her waist.
Stan Torres’s face completely changed.
He was utterly looked down upon!
Around them, there were still some murmuring voices, but the moment Flossie’s words ended, an eerie silence fell instantly.

All of a sudden, a nameless rage coalesced in his chest, and Stan’s face darkened as he shouted at Flossie angrily, "Flossie Wright, what the hell do you mean by this?!"
Charging with a murderous aura, Stan pointed at Flossie, his yell filled with fury.
Just as he finished roaring, his movements stiffened.
At some unknown point, a dagger had appeared at Flossie’s fingertips and with a lift of her hand, it was now resting against his neck.
Her movements were swift and decisive, and with so many eyes on them, very few saw how she made her move, just that by the time Stan had quieted down, Flossie had already pressed the dagger to his throat.
Clenching his fists tightly, Stan fought to suppress the panic rising from the depths of his heart.
The cold blade, unexpectedly at his vulnerable neck, touched his skin, sending a shiver down his spine.
The hand holding the dagger was steady. Flossie narrowed her eyes slightly, then raised a finger, pushing aside the hand that had come up to her, and took two steps towards him.
"Sorry, I reacted too quickly," Flossie said with a smile in her eyes, though her gaze held a chilly intent, "But, that doesn’t affect our cooperation, does it?"
Flossie didn’t want to make a scene either.
As allies, they were comrades on the Battlefield, and Flossie was not one to stir trouble, happy to cooperate as long as the other party didn’t provoke her.
Even if the other party might be a drag.
But in actual combat, she couldn’t guarantee there would be absolutely no one dragging their feet.
Only, the other party had become somewhat overbearing, challenging her without any concept of cooperation, just because of some dissatisfaction.
People who could be provoked with just a few words, Flossie really didn’t think much of them.
Staring at her blankly for a moment, Stan agreed reluctantly.
He really couldn’t swallow this grievance!
Moreover, he hadn’t seen any ability from Flossie other than being consistently oppressive. Had it not been for the dagger at his throat, Stan would not have let this go so easily.
Seeing his reluctant agreement, Flossie’s brow furrowed, but she still withdrew the dagger.
After all, his platoon leader was watching from behind, and Flossie needed to give some respect.
With a slight movement of her finger, the dagger disappeared without a trace, and Flossie turned around, looking back at the platoon leader, "Just a joke with him, you don’t mind, do you?"
It wasn’t a deliberate explanation. Flossie’s voice was still cold, seemingly just a perfunctory effort to put an end to this matter.
"I don’t mind."
The platoon leader replied with a livid face, clearly not in a good mood either.
His soldier had been humiliated, then threatened with a knife. He could’ve pursued matters with Flossie, but she wrapped it up with just a sentence or two, leaving him without recourse against her.
Furthermore, the other party was an ally and a Frogman with a formidable reputation; it wasn’t advisable to openly fall out with them.
The platoon leader steadied his breath.
If these Frogmen couldn’t withstand a single blow in real combat, there wouldn’t need to be a word from him; others would catch hold of that and mock them. But if they did show an outstanding performance on the Battlefield, then this kind of arrogance would make them willingly concede.
