"That depends on you."
He spoke softly, his magnetic voice passing by her ear, tugging tightly at her heartstrings. His words were filled with laughter, but they were also particularly bewitching.
The subtext was, even if they pretend to do something real, it still partially depends on her. But considering his character, if she dug a little deeper, she guessed it would depend if she could attract his attention.
Their gaze crossed in mid-air, sparking a blazing fire in an instant.
It wasn’t the spark of love, but the pure, spreading smoke of war.
After a moment, Flossie Wright seemed bored and retracted her hand saying leisurely, "You won’t have a chance."
She appreciated Glenn Hutchinson’s character and ability, but she also appreciated a lot of others; some were friends, some enemies, some strangers she had merely crossed paths with once. It was a normal mentality. If someone had a certain trait that she found good, or one she couldn’t surpass, she naturally turned it to admiration.
However, admiration doesn’t equate to liking.
In fact, she was keen to make friends with Glenn Hutchinson, provided he didn’t challenge her so much.
"Opportunities can be created."
Glenn’s smile seemed pleasantly indifferent. He seemed indefatigable in his determination to challenge Flossie. The next moment, he raised his hand and put his arm around her shoulder again, this time with a certain level of forcefulness.
Because he put her right into the car.
As soon as they got into the car, Glenn tossed a bag of clothes to her.
"Go to the back and change."
She opened the bag and discovered, to her surprise, that it was a clean set of ocean camouflage.
Glenn couldn’t possibly have a set of training clothes in his car at all times. Thinking back to his disappearance while dressing her wound, she guessed that was when he had gotten this set of training clothes for her.
But before she could get out of the car, he swiftly grabbed the military Dagger from her waist.
"I’ll hold onto this."
His voice was lazy but gave Flossie no reason to refuse.
It was a lethal weapon that had taken lives and seen blood - it wasn’t safe for her to keep it on her.
In order for the Armed Police to not be suspicious of Flossie, he still needed to put in some work. But before that, he had to get rid of all clues on Flossie.
For him, or to put it another way, for Flossie, it wasn’t a tough task.
Flossie’s eyes shimmered slightly, but she didn’t argue with him. She took the bag with the training clothes and headed towards the back door.
What he could think of, she may not have thought of.
The Dagger she had chosen from the military goods store was just confiscated by Glenn, no matter what, she felt wronged.
After changing her clothes, a ten-minute drive had brought Flossie to the Training Ground where new soldiers usually trained. But this time, there wasn’t a single new soldier in sight.
Of course, Glenn’s team was working outside. The amphibious reconnaissance soldiers of the battalion had gone through a week of hellish training early in the morning, so there weren’t other soldiers on the training ground either.
Glenn casually asked a soldier on guard about the situation. Seeing his shoulder patches, the soldier immediately explained everything without any hesitation.
The new soldiers were currently conducting two trainings on the mountain - mountaineering and descent with rope.
"Um, you are in the cooking class, right?"
The on-duty Kenny Jackson looked at Flossie and noticed a sense of familiarity, so he asked her an extra question.
Recently, two female soldiers from the cooking class had become popular around the Base, and even soldiers from other units came over to join the excitement. This particular Kenny often dined in the kitchen and had occasionally seen Flossie and Becca Reyes, naturally, he found her familiar.
