There were no lights on the clearing, only a host of bonfires that had been lit.
The illumination was dim.
Yet, the general shape of the surroundings was still visible.
The basketball aimed at her flew with unerring accuracy.
Flossie Wright slightly squinted her eyes.
As others gazed with widened eyes, Flossie’s frame shifted slightly, and the basketball brushed past her ear, bringing with it a slight chill and ruffling her hair.
A "thud" resounded.
The basketball grazed her and landed not far behind, issuing a gentle sound.
Flossie lifted her eyes, her gaze falling on Cassie Ferguson not too far away.
Standing still, Cassie stared at her coldly, her undisguised hostility mingling with the chill between her brows, devoid of any emotion.
Flossie withdrew her gaze.
Ignoring the provocation, she sidestepped and headed straight for the dormitory.
At the same time—
After a moment of surprise, there were numerous calls from the group of students.
Most were inviting Flossie to join the evening party.
Flossie had no intention of paying attention, but Rowdy Brightwill soon broke out from the crowd and ran up to her.
Standing before her, Rowdy beamed with a squinted smile.
"I’m headed to the dormitory."
Her eyes shifting slightly, Flossie spoke before Rowdy could.

"Oh..." Disappointment flickered through Rowdy’s expression. He blinked his attractive eyes, casting subtle shadows beneath with his long eyelashes.
Soon, Rowdy concealed his disappointment, revealing a shallow smile, "We have food here. Do you want some? I can bring it to you in the dormitory later."
Flossie refused bluntly.
In that moment, even Rowdy’s beaming smile could not hide his dejection.
"Is Belinda in the dormitory?"
Flossie shifted the topic appropriately.
Having scanned the clearing earlier, she had not seen Belinda.
If not at the Training Ground, then in the dormitory.
The Training Ground was close to the field, and Belinda disliked noisy events. Predicting that she would not enjoy the raucous party, Flossie decided to go straight to the dormitory to find her.
Rowdy nodded.
He had been to Dormitory 303 to look for Flossie and had met Belinda there, inviting her as well, but she did not agree to come down.
"Okay," responded Flossie, then turning to Rowdy, she added, "have fun."
Upon hearing Flossie’s indication, Rowdy’s smile brightened a touch more.
And so, he watched as Flossie left.
Only when she disappeared into the darkness and her figure was no longer visible did Rowdy withdraw his gaze.
He turned and walked back toward the crowd.
Flossie found Belinda in Dormitory 303.
It was only about nine o’clock, and she was almost ready for bed.
"Are you free?"
Flossie turned on the dormitory lights and asked Belinda, who was about to get into bed.
Belinda answered without turning around.
Having prepared for sleep, naturally, she had no time.
Ignoring her response, Flossie glanced at her watch and continued, "There’s still time for a night snack."
Belinda replied nonchalantly.
But she stopped her preparations for bed.
Since Flossie had said something like that, it meant that Flossie would certainly involve her in her next move.
As expected, Flossie walked straight over to her.
