Glenn Hutchinson had only said a few words, and though he spoke lightly, anyone with a bit of sense would know nothing good came out of that phone call between the two.
Clearly, Glenn had the upper hand, leaving Perry Reed quite upset.
"Not planning to talk about it?" Glenn asked with a teasing smile, "How did you get involved with him?"
Flossie Wright paused for a moment, slowly taking her gaze back and glancing at the number on her phone.
Her eyes flickered slightly.
Moments later, Flossie’s gaze returned to calm, and she spoke in a lazy tone, "Forgotten."
It was something from a past life, not much worth mentioning.
At this point, saying more was pointless.
The drama of meeting Perry Reed wasn’t much different from meeting Glenn Hutchinson.
Glenn didn’t press further.
Gathering her thoughts, Flossie lowered her head, turned on her mobile game, and prepared to continue her farming and monster-killing.
But just as she destroyed a spider’s lair in the game, she felt the car stop.
Exiting the game, she tossed the phone to Glenn, opened the car door, and stepped out.
All in one smooth motion.
This is a small community.
Not very large, with only about ten or so buildings, but the landscape of the community was decent, and the buildings seemed newly built, appearing quite fresh.
Building three, sixth floor.
Flossie followed Glenn up the stairs.
She took the opportunity to observe the surroundings, and if possible, glanced around the households with open doors.
Observing everything she could, gathering information as much as possible, was almost second nature to her from her time in the Forces.
Finally, Glenn stopped in front of a door.
The door wasn’t closed; he directly pulled it open.
"Someone inside?" Flossie raised an eyebrow.
Glenn gave her a meaningful look.
However, before he could reply, a voice from inside answered.
A somewhat immature voice came from the living room.
At the same time, a small figure ran straight from the living room to the entrance hall.
Flossie’s eyes flickered.
With a crisp sound, the approaching figure halted and stood properly in front.
His right hand raised, giving a standard military salute.
Then, he lowered his hand.
The boy’s gaze shifted from Glenn to Flossie.
A bright smile spread across his pretty face, warm and filled with laughter directed at Flossie’s eyes.
Flossie had a moment of daze.
She studied him carefully for a while before snapping back to reality.
Flynn Reid.
Glenn Hutchinson’s son.
At this moment—
A year and a half without meeting, he had grown much taller compared to the small boy in her memory.
Not yet seven years old, his teeth hadn’t even changed, but his handsome features were already evident. Two years ago, he was already a little charmer for the girls, and now, besides his good looks, he carried a bit more heroic aura.
He didn’t look much like Glenn, but his demeanor seemed cut from the same mold.
"He..." Flossie looked to Glenn in confusion.
"Sister, I’ve transferred schools. I’ll be studying nearby and living with you,"
Flynn explained fluently, jumping in before Glenn could answer.
Pausing, Flynn continued, "Dad, Sister, please come in."
With that, Flynn ran to the shoe rack, took out a new pair of men’s and women’s slippers, and handed them back to them.
Very sensible.
"When did you get here?" Flossie tousled his hair and asked as she looked down.
"This morning." Flynn’s face was filled with uncontrollable joy, "Uncle Lu brought me over."
Pondering, Flossie seemed to realize something.
"You just saw him?"
Turning her head, she asked Glenn, who was putting on shoes.
Glenn raised an eyebrow, looked at Flynn, and asked word by word, "Is it more important to take care of your sister, or to see you?"
"Of course, it’s to take care of my sister!"
Without hesitation, Flynn answered decisively.
