They were constantly running, resisting, and persisting at every moment.
By the end of the day, nearly everyone was lying on the ground more dead than alive.
It was particularly tough for Becca Reyes, who was participating in this kind of training for the first time. Several times during the training, she heard Nathan Foster exclaim, "this training is so easy," which made her want to punch him hard in the head.
"If this is easy, what’s it going to be like when it gets hard?"
Becca Reyes, lying on the ground, plucked a blade of grass and managed to move over to Flossie Wright. Grumbling under her breath, she wished time could freeze so she wouldn’t have to get up and do anything.
A cool breeze blew softly, causing the dry grass to ripple lightly.
"You’ll get used to it."
As dusk fell, Flossie Wright shielded her eyes from the setting sun’s rays, squinting lazily.
This level of training wasn’t a big deal for her. In her previous life, she could handle such physical exertion easily by the age of ten. After all, martial arts required a great deal of deliberate practice and honing of the will, very much similar to this.
Yet, in the forces, the training could never be just this. As Foster stated before, this was actually just laying the foundation.
However, her current body was something she had never experienced in her previous life. She didn’t know what it was like to be out of breath after running just a couple of kilometers, nor what kind of physical problems she might encounter doing practically anything...
Fortunately, she wasn’t one to take things hard and considered this an unusual trade-off for a second chance at life.
Becca Reyes lifted the hand that was clutching the dry grass. Her muscles ached, and in the waning sunlight, you could see her trembling fingers clearly.
With a sigh, she pounded her hand on the ground.
Finally, she understood why the new recruits would use their hands to eat in the cafeteria. After doing thousands of push-ups and chin-up exercises, any feeling in their "hands" would gradually fade away. The numb palms were nothing more than something for people to look at, and she guessed that even if a needle was stick in, they wouldn’t feel much.

"You two, it’s time to gather."
Janice Wood, who was sitting not too far away resting, saw the two listlessly slump onto the ground. She walked over as a reminder, then sat down next to Flossie Wright.
Becca Reyes weakly lifted her eyelids to look at Janice Wood who was sitting on the grass. Her face was only slightly red, but there was no sign of tiredness, causing Becca to furrow her brow. "Why are you perfectly fine?"
"Um," Janice Wood chuckled shyly, "I’m used to it."
She was always in good shape physically. The training intensity was not large during her time with the new recruits, so it never really stood out. Here, however, things were different. When others were extremely exhausted, she merely had to endure to get through it. The first few days were somewhat unmanageable, but after more than ten days, she had adjusted.
Flossie Wright moved her palm slightly and glanced at Wood, calmly accepting this fact.
She had been in contact with Wood for almost a month, so she was extremely familiar with her fitness level.
Janice Wood did not pay much mind to Becca Reyes’s envious gaze, but after a simple smile, she suddenly remembered something. "Oh right, there’s no training tonight, but there’s a lecture from the Instructor. Are you two going to attend?"
"What class?"
Becca Reyes asked listlessly.
"Nathan Foster just mentioned it, it’s about army tactics," Janice Wood paused before continuing, "As the Marine Corps carries out amphibious warfare, they need to learn some basic knowledge of land warfare. Usually, these kinds of lessons are taught by Captain Bard. Yet it seems like he’s busy today, so Captain Hutchinson is invited to give the lecture."
