However, at that time, Rowdy Brightwill was still enduring his honorable "sacrifice," serving his punishment in the gloomy room decreed by his most authoritative grandfather Xu.
The following morning.
Staying in the Forces had gotten her accustomed to a disciplined routine, waking up punctually no matter how comfortable she was. Flossie Wright, being in the cooking class, adjusted her sleep schedule to wake even earlier, forcing herself to sleep until six o’clock in the morning.
It had snowed all night, and as she looked out from her window, the entire residential area was a vast expanse of white, with thick layers of snow accumulated on the trees lining the road.
Flossie stood by the window for a while, then went to find new clothes in the wardrobe. But the moment she opened the door, she paused.
She usually did not pay much attention to her attire, preferring more practical clothing. In the Forces, it was even more monotonous, as everyone wore uniformly distributed military outfits which only differed in their sizes.
Yet, the wardrobe filled with outfits that her mother had arranged for her, was filled with dazzling clothes, predominantly bright and shiny dresses, and the rest were flashy, fashionable clothes, which made Flossie frown.
Fortunately, Flossie’s mother had not let her girlish tastes run wild.
After rummaging through the wardrobe for a good while, Flossie finally found a pair of jeans and a long coat. Perhaps her mother had inquired about her height and body shape beforehand—the clothes fit her perfectly.
As Flossie’s mother got up early to make breakfast, she heard Flossie opening the door of her room. As she turned around, she froze, momentarily stunned by Flossie’s smart attire. She blinked, gave her daughter a once-over, then, realizing that it was her own child, could not help but show an amazed look.
In her mother’s recollection, Flossie liked to dress maturely when she was in college, always wearing heavy makeup and fashionable, sophisticated clothes. Although she looked good, she had never given such an astonishing impression.
It was not about being attractive or not; she exuded a distinct aura. Without using any skincare or makeup products, even though she was in a simple trench coat and jeans, and even wore slippers, her mother thought her daughter looked stunning. It was not purely feminine but also carried a unique kind of cool and handsome air, without coming off as overtly masculine.
Between her calm and composed brows, there existed a demeanor unique to her.
It seemed that this was how she should be.
Flossie’s mother suddenly thought that she did not have to worry about her daughter’s marriage at all. With Flossie appearing this way, countless girls would surely pursue her...
Uh, that seemed a bit off.
"Flossie, what do you want for breakfast?" Trying to not let herself be swayed by the events of last night, Flossie’s mother asked her with a smile.
Seeing how her mother had laid out both Chinese and western ingredients, Flossie frowned slightly and curtly replied, "Noodles."
In the Forces, there was not much a choice for meals. Flossie had grown accustomed to eating Squad Leader Lin’s noodles, having been "tortured" by his cooking for so long, she didn’t expect anything fancy.
"Okay!" Rarely having a chance to converse with Flossie in such a calm manner, her mother nodded happily. She only took out noodles from the refrigerator but after a few steps, she remembered something. Pausing her movements, she cautiously asked Flossie, "Your Uncle Ding has a day off today. We plan to go out. Would you like to join us?"
Rather than saying they wanted Flossie to accompany them, it was more accurate to say that they had planned this outing for her.
She had spoken with Rowdy Brightwill for a long time yesterday. He hadn’t spoken a word against Flossie, but his answers were ambiguous and lacked convincing reasons. As such, Flossie’s mother was a bit upset with Rowdy Brightwill. However, given his usual kind behavior and her soft heart, she found it hard to genuinely be angry with him.
