With a merciless rejection and a slap across Helen Wright’s face, Flossie Wright ripped apart Helen’s pretentious smile.
Although Flossie disliked such petty shenanigans, it didn’t mean she was ignorant and naive.
Handing over the breakfast prepared specially for herself to Flossie, pretending to display sisterly affection as if Helen was generous to her, this act was based on the premise-
Helen Wright had a poor appetite and didn’t intend to eat in the first place.
To the observant, if Flossie accepted her breakfast, it was akin to accepting Helen’s charity.
A scenario hardly suitable to be aired publicly.
Since Helen harbored intentions to unsettle her, Flossie reciprocated without a hint of politeness. She didn’t care, but Helen did.
As expected, the moment Flossie finished speaking, Helen’s complexion underwent a drastic change. Her previously kind and considerate smile instantly turned into a look of being oppressed.
"Flossie Wright, what do you mean by this?! Your sister generously gave you breakfast, if you don’t want it, just say so properly!"
Merry Otiz had just come downstairs when she heard the argument between Helen and Flossie. Even though she had a faint idea of what was going on, she quickly took Helen’s side without asking any questions. Her face was clouded with anger as she approached, her whole body radiating fury. The hate and anger in her eyes made it look as if she wanted nothing more than to flay Flossie alive, without any pretense of concealment.
"What kind of nice words do you want to hear," Flossie glanced at her, and only slightly turned her body when she got close. Her eyes were slightly cold, "Thank her for her charity?"
Her piercing words completely exposed Helen’s little scheme, laying it bare for all.
Helen was getting anxious. Although that was what she had intended, she hadn’t expected Flossie to see through it at a glance and use it against her.
Meanwhile, Merry’s complexion also changed drastically. However, she had been dealing with this kind of situation far longer than Helen and she didn’t display the panic of being exposed.
After all, everyone had seen Flossie’s "rudeness". Who would criticize Helen after knowing the truth?
"Flossie Wright, don’t think just because you have someone backing you up, you can do whatever you please in the Wright family!" Merry’s voice was sharp, "Your sister thought of you and offered you breakfast. It wouldn’t matter if you didn’t appreciate it, but why would you say such things about her?! Ask yourself, aren’t you intentionally creating issues?! Flossie Wright, no one in the Wright family owes you anything! We don’t tolerate you distorting the facts and wrongly accusing people!"
Merry spoke confidently, as though Flossie was truly twisting the truth and had enraged her.
But who was truly twisting things? She knew it better than anyone else.
Flossie was originally a bit irritated as well, but seeing Merry’s flustered expression reminded her of Merry’s secret manipulations, her ever-changing faces, she couldn’t help but find it interesting. As she leisurely dusted off her sleeve, Flossie thought of continuing her retort, but she was interrupted by a powerful presence. Raising her eyelids, she decided to hold her words for a moment.
"Who is wrongly accusing people?"
An ice-cold voice broke the tense atmosphere, sending a chill down Merry’s spine. She turned around abruptly and saw Glenn Hutchinson strolling towards them. The fire in her eyes extinguished instantly, leaving her feeling somewhat awkward.
What an unfortunate coincidence!
