Liliana Prutoz was so angry she was gritting her teeth.
She had never seen someone so infuriating!
She had no grudges with Flossie Wright, and they were from the same dormitory, after all. Could Flossie really be so indifferent as to "stand by and watch her die"?
That aside!
Was she also openly mocking her?!
No matter how angry she was, Liliana Prutoz still didn’t rush into the cave to confront Flossie.
Even though she could list a myriad of Flossie’s faults, they were the only two there. No one was around to render her justice, let alone come out to help her.
Even if she had reason on her side, there was nothing she could do.
After thinking it over, Liliana Prutoz could only look in the direction Flossie had just pointed, with anger boiling inside her.
She would just have to trust her this one time.
The drizzle continued as Liliana Prutoz fiercely wiped her face, clearing the tears from her eyes, then headed in that direction.
Flossie, who had been standing at the mouth of the cave, only relaxed her furrowed brows slightly after seeing her leave.
"Kind-hearted."
She had just walked into the cave when she heard this cool comment.
Her steps faltered as Flossie raised an eyebrow toward Perry Reed.
He was standing by the campfire, tossing the last of the wood into the fire.
Instantly, the previously well-lit flames were blocked, and the light in the cave darkened considerably.
"Do you need to guess?" Withdrawing his hand, Perry Reed turned his head to look at Flossie, Ray replied leisurely.
Flossie merely shrugged, wordlessly.
In Perry’s eyes, she had been too soft, but in Liliana’s view, she was utterly vile.
Everyone had their own perspective.
Flossie had her own principles.
It wasn’t worth quibbling over such a trivial matter with Perry.
"I’m going to gather some wood." Glancing at the campfire, Flossie turned and walked back toward the cave entrance. However, after only a step, she paused to look at Perry Reed and warned him, "You’re not allowed to go out when God comes back."
In case Liliana returned...
Perry could bump into her at any moment.
Perry staying inside the cave seemed much safer.
Perry didn’t respond, but he didn’t argue either.
His actions were always mood-dependent.
If that woman who was making a fuss outside earlier really encountered him, his bad luck would be nothing compared to her sheer misfortune.
Flossie stepped out of the cave.
The sky was dim, making it indeed difficult to move around outside.
But in the jungle filled with dead trees and branches, finding some combustible wood significantly reduced the difficulty of Flossie’s task.
It was unclear where Perry had gotten his wood from, as the vicinity seemed largely untouched.
Flossie was happy to take it easy, casually assembling a bundle using parachute cords, then dragging two large bundles back.
Half an hour later.
Flossie returned dragging enough wood to fill the cave entrance.
And just after she had stacked the wood at the entrance, without a word, she disappeared again into the outside.
Perry Reed, blocked inside the cave: "..."
At that moment, watching Flossie pile up the wood at the door and then wave her hand as she left, Perry’s face darkened.
When Flossie returned once again, dragging a large tree behind her, she saw that the wood at the cave entrance had been moved inside.
And there was Mr. Perry, sitting by the campfire, leisurely—ahem, splitting the wood.
He used the dagger in his hand to split all the slightly larger pieces of wood into sizes easy to burn.
It was unclear when God had come back, but the two fish it brought were now being skilfully prepared by Perry and roasted over the campfire.
