This round of evaluation went smoothly, with no mistakes along the way.
The trainees breathed a sigh of relief, and the instructors did the same.
The trainees were relieved that nothing went wrong during the evaluation, while the instructors were relieved that the trainees were not injured, which would have caused them problems.
"How was it?"
The last group’s evaluation came to an end, and Joshua Bailey looked at Flossie Wright with a smile.
"Nothing surprising," Flossie said blandly.
"Of course," Joshua Bailey responded to her words with an extremely peculiar tone, "No one can create surprises like you do."
Flossie’s eyes narrowed as she looked at him slowly.
Joshua Bailey quickly withdrew his gaze, pretending he hadn’t said anything.
"I’m leaving first."
Flossie bluntly left the mess to Joshua Bailey.
"Hey—" Joshua Bailey wanted to call out to her.
But Flossie had already turned her back, completely ignoring him.
Having supervised everything that needed supervising, at most, there would be a final assembly and dismissal, Flossie had no patience to wait any longer.
"The list will be announced this afternoon." Joshua Bailey blew a whistle for assembly, gave a brief command, and then directly said, "Dismissed now."
Saying this, without caring about the trainees’ reactions, Joshua Bailey followed Flossie.
"There’s a meeting at noon, did the Captain tell you?" Joshua Bailey, holding a roster, walked beside Flossie.
"Yes." Flossie responded lightly.
This noon, they needed to discuss who would stay and who would leave.
The qualification rules set by Glenn Hutchinson not only brought some psychological pressure on the trainees but also posed a moderate hassle for them as instructors.
"You’re more familiar with the female soldiers, so they’re under your charge," Joshua Bailey rubbed his nose, "It’s best if you can select the elimination list before noon."
Flossie halted her steps, her gaze slowly sweeping toward him.
"You...," Flossie raised an eyebrow, her voice filled with subtle meaning.
"Those who can, do more!" Joshua Bailey hurriedly interrupted her, praising her with a smile, "It’s a compliment."
After staring at him for a while, until Joshua Bailey felt uneasy, Flossie casually spoke, "Give me the grade report later."
Joshua Bailey immediately agreed.
Then he quickly slipped away.
Passing nearly a third of his task to Flossie was something he couldn’t let Glenn Hutchinson catch on to.
Luckily, Glenn Hutchinson was out attending meetings these couple of days; as long as Flossie didn’t say anything, it wouldn’t be discovered by Glenn Hutchinson.
He was absolutely sure that Flossie wouldn’t tell Glenn Hutchinson about such a trivial matter.
He overestimated Flossie.
As soon as he left, Flossie returned to the office and received a call of condolence from Glenn Hutchinson.
Flossie relayed the morning’s evaluation events as they were, and didn’t forget to mention Joshua Bailey’s shameless conduct.
"Wait a moment."
Glenn Hutchinson’s voice was slightly cold as he threw out three words to Flossie.
The call wasn’t hung up.
Flossie waited for a minute, then the cell phone in the drawer started buzzing.
She curled her lips, took out her phone, and as soon as she saw the name "Joshua Bailey," she answered the call with a helpless smile, "Sister-in-law, I was wrong—"
"Hmm." Flossie raised an eyebrow.
"We’ll organize the list of female soldiers first and then let you select," Joshua Bailey spoke earnestly, "Please don’t reject our good intentions."
Her gaze swept over the landline, Flossie responded, "Okay."
Upon her agreement, Joshua Bailey promptly hung up the call.

Flossie smiled, put her cell phone back into the drawer.
Then picked up the phone again, "He called me."
"I plan to do it." Flossie’s fingers tapped rhythmically on the desktop.
"Hmm, I know," Glenn Hutchinson replied calmly, not surprised at all.
If Flossie didn’t plan on doing it, she certainly wouldn’t have agreed.
"You played him?" Flossie’s mouth twitched slightly.
"He shouldn’t have set his sights on you," Glenn Hutchinson said matter-of-factly, exhibiting utmost protectiveness.
Flossie was speechless.
After finishing the call with Glenn Hutchinson, Flossie then asked Iris Dukes to get a copy of the trainees’ grades from Joshua Bailey, and marked the ones she deemed unsuitable to stay in the office.
After experiencing Belinda Nichols’ sacrifice, Flossie became much more cautious and careful when she took over the training of this group of people.
She had accepted Belinda Nichols’ departure; perhaps, she could accept another Belinda Nichols leaving, but she could hardly accept the departure of one trainee after another picked and led onto the battlefield by herself.
