At this time, approaching breakfast time, everyone else was in training, and the dormitory building was empty.
Nancy Phillips seemed to have something to say to Jessie Grain, so the two went to Nancy Phillips’ room on the second floor of the dormitory, while Flossie Wright went straight back to her own room.
Upon entering, Flossie Wright took off her helmet and jacket, immediately grabbed some fresh clothes and went to shower. After diligently washing her change of clothes, she prepared to sleep.
Before getting into bed, she glanced at her computer desk and just happened to see her phone screen going dark.
She hesitated for a moment, then reached out to pick up the phone and turned on the screen, only to find that there were more than thirty missed calls.
She had two phones; the new one had only the numbers of Rowdy Brightwill, Glenn Hutchinson, Perry Reed, and Olivia Hamilton, which she rarely used, so it was usually set aside. If those numbers couldn’t get through, they would call her other phone anyway.
However, she didn’t often use her old phone either. Recently, she had only made two calls with Perry Reed, and then she would charge it once a week—only because she occasionally used it as an alarm.
This time, there were so many calls in one go that it had nearly drained the few remaining bits of battery life.
Thus, just as the phone screen briefly lit up, before she could see who had called, the phone shut down automatically due to a lack of battery.
Flossie Wright’s eyebrows twitched.
Without paying it much mind, she fetched a charger, plugged in the phone, and then used a towel to pat her hair dry.
When her hair was half-dry and drowsiness swept over her, she climbed straight into bed to sleep.
That sleep lasted ten hours.
From seven-thirty in the morning to five-thirty in the afternoon.
For three whole months, they were mostly in a state of sleep deprivation. The high-intensity training had them tense and on guard, observing every thing and clue as if trying to hone those skills into their instincts.
She was too tired.
After passing the qualification, she relaxed, and so Flossie Wright slept exceptionally long.
When she woke up, the dormitory was empty.
She folded her bedding and got out of bed, washed an apple, and sat in a chair munching on it while turning on her now fully-charged phone to check the call log.
They were from Helen Wright, the old master, Regan Wright, and Perry Reed.
Upon carefully looking at the missed calls, Flossie Wright’s brows twisted slightly—a flash of disappointment crossed the bottom of her heart.
Almost immediately, that bit of emotion was cast aside in her mind.
She dialed her grandfather’s number first.
"Ready to take the call now?"
As soon as the call connected, the voice of the old Mr. Wright came from the other side, obviously filled with anger.
Flossie Wright obediently put down her apple.
He probably wanted to ask about her assessment this morning, but having not been able to contact her all day long, the old Mr. Wright’s frustration was understandable.
"My phone was out of battery," Flossie explained.
With a cold snort, it was clear that Mr. Wright was still not appeased.
"Excess liver fire is bad for your health."
Flossie Wright spoke casually.
Blocked by her words, Mr. Wright was obviously angered.
"Is it because I became a sniper?" Flossie Wright said languidly, cutting off the impending wrath of Mr. Wright.
The other side of the phone suddenly fell silent.
The call was disconnected.
Moving the phone slightly away, Flossie Wright looked at the words "call ended," blinked her eyes, and felt rather helpless in her heart.
