"Come back with me!"
Perry Reed’s icy words were like an order, resolute and unshakable.
"Impossible."
The reply was cut and dry, Flossie Wright’s voice as cold as it could get.
Aside from in the Forces, no one had ever commanded her.
Perry Reed raised his hand, his fingers sliding through her hair.
"What if I insist on taking you back?" Perry Reed asked, word by word.
"You are more than welcome to try."
Flossie Wright’s attitude was unyielding, showing not the slightest hint of compromise.
"Erina Taylor!"
Perry Reed spat out these two words through gritted teeth, even his aura entwined with rage.
"I am not her." Flossie Wright stood straight and still, letting Perry Reed hold her without showing any emotional fluctuation, and she slowly, yet clearly spoke, "Perry Reed, I am Flossie Wright."
She was Flossie Wright.
Erina Taylor had died in a foreign land long ago; from the moment she awoke with the identity of Flossie Wright, aside from her thoughts and memories, she had nothing to do with Erina Taylor.
She never should have recognized Perry Reed.
A person who had already left—
Originally, she should have just been let go.
"You can abandon that identity," Perry Reed said assuredly.
With just a word from Flossie Wright, Perry Reed could take her away from Eastlandia at any time, and she could end the identity of Flossie Wright however she wished.
"I could," Flossie Wright spoke calmly, "but I don’t want to."
She decisively vetoed the idea.
She no longer wanted to live the life of a mercenary.
If she was now a soldier, then, she still wanted to live on the soil of Eastlandia.
Although, she did occasionally miss the old days.
Free and unrestrained, wild and willful, conquering others with mere fists.
But, she was no longer Erina Taylor; without that identity, without those skills, and without those brothers who had gone through life and death with her.
Even if she was willing to abandon the past and leave the Forces with Perry Reed, to return to Perry Reed’s Mercenary Corps.
That was even more ludicrous.
By then, she would be nothing more than Perry Reed’s pampered pet.
Without sufficient clout, there was no way she could simply dominate others.
More importantly, she had no intention of leaving.
"What is here that makes it worth your while to stay?"
Loosening his grasp slightly, Perry Reed looked down, gazing into Flossie Wright’s eyes.
The fury erupting within him seemed likely to explode or dissipate based on Flossie Wright’s response.
"The identity of a soldier."
Flossie Wright’s expression was indifferent as she slightly lifted her gaze, locking eyes with him.
She knew what worried Perry Reed.
It’s just that coming to Aaron Doom wasn’t for the reasons he thought.
"You could stay in the Marine Corps," Perry Reed said, frowning heavily, his eyes swirling with complex emotions.
"They cannot keep me there," Flossie Wright said with considerable gravity.
Perry Reed fell into a brief silence.
He could guess why Flossie Wright had left the Marine Corps.
It wasn’t suitable for Flossie Wright.
The multiple layers of suppression were constraining Flossie Wright’s true nature.
She was the person who hated tedious rules the most; the fact that she had managed to stay in the Marine Corps without causing trouble was beyond Perry Reed’s imagination.
Coming to Aaron Doom, the thought of Flossie Wright being able to meet with Glenn Hutchinson at any time ignited an uncontrollable rage in his heart!
Couldn’t she have chosen some other special forces unit?!
Why this damned place?!
She knew full well—
