Her series of actions happened so quickly it was too much for everyone to process. But before they could think deeply about it, they were jolted by a thunderous voice —
"Is the food in the mess hall so bad that you’d rather starve than eat it?!"
Everyone was taken aback, turning their heads to see the stern Instructor Nathan Foster, standing authoritatively by the door. His eyes were blazing with fury, his face sullen. Anger was billowing between his brows as though it might at any moment transform into a lethal sword stabbing into their throats. At once a sense of danger and tension filled the entire mess hall, causing even the new soldiers who were still eating to feel inexplicably apprehensive.
Nathan Foster took a few steps inside. His imposing manner wasn’t reduced in the slightest; instead, his fury seemed to intensify. "I want everyone to get back to their seats, and don’t even think about leaving tonight until your plates are clean!"
After today’s training, Captain Bard Walker had called him to the office for a punishment, only releasing him after a stern reprimand. On his way back, he heard that some new recruits were causing trouble in the mess hall. Instantly, he rushed over and saw utter chaos, with a large number of new troops bullying a small number. His heart burned with anger, and he could hardly stop himself from landing a punch on each and every one of them!
What kind of soldiers are they supposed to be?!
Don’t they have the slightest bit of discipline?!
Instead of addressing the issues on the training ground, they prefer to pick on the cooking class!
They’re nothing but pathetic cowards who take advantage of the weak!
Watching the bunch of spineless men quickly retreating to their seats, Nathan Foster’s temper flared violently. As he glanced at them, his voice was still as firm and powerful: "By seven o’clock, I want all of you on the parade ground. Anyone who’s late can forget about attending future trainings!"
As soon as his words subsided, the new recruits, who were previously being so arrogant, instantly went back to stuffing food into their mouths. They ate so fast as if they wished they could just directly pour the food into their stomachs.
Then, after a moment’s hesitation, Nathan Foster came up to the veteran soldiers of the cooking class and sincerely apologized. Naturally, none of the cooks gave him a welcoming response. Their cold and mocking words turned his face alternatingly pale and green, yet he had no opportunity to retort.
Nathan Foster was an upfront man. He was somewhat proud, but he knew how important following the rules was. Having just been severely reprimanded by Captain Bard Walker, he reflected from start to finish and realized he had indeed been biased against the cooking class, looking down on them. This is why Flossie Wright had confronted him in front of everyone.
Normally, he would never lower his pride to apologize to the cooks. But now, he was the model for hundreds of soldiers. Every word he said and every action he made could affect the new recruits and even influence them to pick up his bad habits. This was clearly demonstrated in the mess hall. Therefore, he had to be careful.
Any responsibility he needed to bear, he must carry on his shoulders.

Becca Reyes, who was standing nearby, listened to Nathan Foster’s conversation with the cooks for a while. Feeling that the talk was boring, she once again started to look for Flossie Wright, wondering how she had suddenly disappeared. After scanning the entire mess hall, she was sure that Flossie was indeed nowhere to be found.
In fact, Flossie Wright had left while Becca Reyes was talking to Dumpling-face. After all, she could handle these kinds of situations. Instead of hanging around aimlessly, she decided to do her own thing. She went to sit next to Jocelyn Carrington, whose line had almost finished eating.
A few minutes earlier—
"Isn’t that the gun queen? What’s up, you need something?"
