Exchanging a glance, they gritted their teeth and held their ground for two seconds, eventually stepping back in apprehension.
In just the blink of an eye, Flossie Wright sauntered away.
The group of women dispersed quickly, but Glenn Hutchinson could still see that the woman who left with Flossie Wright was clearly the same one who spoke with her on Main Street last night.
In the car.
As soon as the car door closed, Flossie Wright reached sideways to grab Adelaide’s collar just as she got in.
With a forceful tug, Adelaide was pulled over, raising her eyes to meet Flossie’s cold stare.
"Who told you to change the plan?"
With her brows furrowed tightly, Flossie gripped Adelaide’s collar, her tone icy as each word dropped like a chilling interrogation.
That wasn’t how her plan was supposed to go.
How could she bring in so many women?!
The plan was a street robbery, to create chaos, and then find a way to escape.
"I didn’t think your plan was feasible." Adelaide, her face turning pale under the restraint, calmly explained, "He may be a soldier, but he won’t necessarily chase after criminals, and my costs are pretty high."
"Who said anything about making him chase?"
Raising a brow, Flossie’s grip tightened a bit more.
Now, it was Adelaide’s turn to be puzzled.
Wasn’t he supposed to be the one to chase?
Adelaide seemed quite confused.
Flossie coldly commanded, releasing her collar, unwilling to argue further.
The plan never involved having Glenn Hutchinson chase them.
From this morning, she behaved normally, planning from evening to suggest restaurants she had chosen, heightening Glenn Hutchinson’s suspicion, and over the span of three hours, no matter how focused he was, by around nine, he would inevitably let his guard down.
And encountering thugs on the road would further intensify his suspicion, ensuring he wouldn’t leave her behind to pursue them. At this point, Flossie needed to act quickly to give chase, only then could she escape when Glenn Hutchinson finally resolved to relax.
Bringing in a bunch of women...
Absolutely absurd.
Suddenly released, Adelaide took a deep breath, but after a few glances at Flossie, she too let it go.
Since Flossie Wright was the employer, Adelaide had to serve her with a good attitude, even though she had never spoken face-to-face with an employer like this before, but the employer is God after all...
All right, mainly because the issue with Flossie’s identity kept her from being quickly eliminated, and Flossie probably knew quite a bit about their affairs from Erina Taylor.
The leverage held was unclear.
It seemed that if it came to a fight, her hand-to-hand combat might not match up to Flossie’s shooting skills, she wasn’t sure if she could beat her.
So, showing a good temper was necessary.
No, it had to be feigned.
"Is there another car?"
After crossing an intersection, Flossie looked at the nearby road and then asked Adelaide.
After a brief hesitation, Adelaide quickly responded, "There’s one."
"Switch to another one."
Flossie casually instructed.
Adelaide asked, rather shocked.
"Because your license plate has been noted," Flossie glanced at her, "if you don’t want to bump into a swarm of police, you’d better switch cars."
