Flossie Wright curled her lips slightly, "I’m going to sleep for a bit."
Glenn Hutchinson responded decisively.
Flossie’s body was in too much pain. Even though her mind had completely stopped functioning, she still couldn’t fall asleep. It was only after Glenn Hutchinson gave her a shot of painkiller, along with a shot of anesthesia, that she was able to sleep peacefully.
The journey was a bit bumpy. They were heading directly to the airport, which was a two-hour drive.
After Glenn Hutchinson had roughly treated Flossie’s injuries, he held her, trying his best to control the pressure, allowing her to sleep a bit more comfortably. Yet, his heart was still on edge.
Flossie’s injuries were too severe.
High fever and inflammation symptoms even appeared.
Although her internal organs weren’t harmed, her body was bruised all over. There was even a lot of broken glass embedded in her calf, making everything worse than expected.
There were many injuries that Glenn Hutchinson couldn’t handle at all.
He was very worried. This was the first time he truly felt that Flossie might leave at any moment.
Even when Flossie left Aaron Doom, Glenn Hutchinson never felt this strongly.
When tense, time moves slowly. Every minute, every second seems to drag on tenfold, with every moment being an unbearable ordeal.
When they finally arrived at the airport, Glenn Hutchinson didn’t even have time to catch his breath. It wasn’t until he saw the medical staff lift Flossie onto a stretcher and transfer her to the helicopter for treatment that the tension in his nerves hadn’t eased a bit.
They couldn’t stay here long. The rest of the Peacekeeping Forces had already left. The only helicopter was here to pick them up, and if they didn’t make it before nightfall, the helicopter would leave too.
In such a place, a plane could be shot down at any moment, and they couldn’t take this risk.
Thankfully, they made it before nightfall.
The journey back wasn’t long. It would take about two hours, and the professionals on the helicopter were all military doctors. Although the equipment wasn’t as complete as in a hospital, handling Flossie’s external injuries wouldn’t be an issue.
However, until they received accurate news about Flossie, Glenn Hutchinson never relaxed.
Once Sandy Cruz, Joshua Bailey, Jude Marsh, and Dallion Collins boarded the helicopter, they maintained silence, sitting quietly nearby, waiting for the landing amidst the tense atmosphere.
When night fully descended, the helicopter finally reached the land of Eastlandia.
Thanks to Glenn Hutchinson’s prior arrangement, the best surgeons from the Military District Hospital were already waiting. As soon as the helicopter landed, Flossie was brought out and pushed into the Rescue Room by the surgeons.
Flossie’s condition was very dangerous.
The most obvious issue was her excessive blood loss.
Although she received a certain amount of blood transfusion on the helicopter, her condition didn’t improve. Her multiple severe wounds made any doctor who saw her instinctively feel that her survival was nothing short of a miracle.
Moreover, the numerous wounds all over her body not only made treatment complicated but also required constant monitoring of Flossie’s physiological functions. As long as the high fever persisted, it could claim her life at any time.
Glenn Hutchinson and his team were left outside the Rescue Room.
The group of five wasn’t in uniform, yet just by standing there, there was no trace of friendliness on their faces. To anyone unaware, they looked like gangsters, even making the nurses avoid them.
Their aura was too strong.
