Obviously, her behavior was rather impolite.
Upon witnessing her demeanor, the positive feelings of Blind Date No.1 towards her inevitably faltered, his face turning stiff.
"Tell me about yourself."
Without rushing to order anything, Blind Date No.1 focused most of his attention on Flossie Wright, blatantly appraising her as if she was some commodity he was reasonably pleased with.
Flossie raised an eyebrow in his direction, "What do you want to know?"
Flossie had no experience with blind dates. She agreed to this one merely to get rid of the throng of bodyguards. Now, she was doing her best to not leave any good impression on Blind Date No.1. Ideally, he would scurry back home after this encounter, not bothering to contact her again. After all, whether she would visit Capital City depended on her mood, so what these strangers thought of her hardly mattered.
"You had an engagement with Rowdy Brightwill, but you were jilted a few days ago."
"Your university education is decent, but now you’re a serving soldier, earning a low wage."
"You have a terrible temper, at least not the type that I like. If you change your attitude, perhaps, I might accept."
"Even if we start dating now, we’d only have a few days together, then I can only contact you via phone, which doesn’t offer me much security."
Flossie’s face darkened as she silently observed Blind Date No.1 babbling away. With all the books he claimed to have read, he was being a complete idiot.
Meanwhile, a man sitting at the neighboring table slightly tilted his head revealing a stunning smile so captivating one could hardly look away.
Even before the woman sitting across from him could strike up a conversation, she was utterly charmed by his smile. It felt as if something within her chest was about to leap out. She just gawked.
"If you can promise to check in with me at least three times a day while you’re in the Forces and get a job that matches my social standing after you’re discharged. I live with my parents, so you should unconditionally obey their wishes at home, without causing any trouble to them. I might consider dating you."
Blind Date No.1 spoke earnestly as if these demands were perfectly reasonable to him. While he spoke, he pushed up his glasses embodying the quintessential nerd stereotype.
He considered such outrageous statements as a given.
Flossie could suddenly understand why despite his good family background, he was sitting across from her now.
She had met many smart and dumb people, but never someone this ridiculous. Calling him an "idiot" would be an understatement.
Facing his serious gaze, Flossie swiftly dialed Regan Wright’s number on her phone. As soon as he answered, Flossie’s first statement was, "Don’t bother bringing out the mentally challenged ones for me."
Having said this, she ended the call before Regan could respond.
Sitting across from her, the man was utterly taken aback.
What was...
𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Was she talking about him being mentally challenged?
"What do you mean by this?"
Blind Date No.1 looked at her intently, a look suggesting that Flossie’s words had severely damaged his dignity. Had Flossie been a man, he probably wouldn’t maintain his sitting posture in composed silence.
