He went directly to the Office Building and found Bard Walker’s office.
Knocking on the door, he didn’t wait for a response and pushed the door open.
Seated in his chair with a copy of "Sniper Training Manual" in hand, Bard Walker didn’t even turn his head at the sound, and spoke gruffly, "Who’s there? Close the door."
Before the words had finished, Glenn Hutchinson had already closed the door.
"You’ve got free time?"
Walking over, Glenn Hutchinson directly snatched the book away.
"Hey, I’m telling you—"
Bard Walker frowned, tracking the direction the book was taken, and then caught a glimpse of Glenn Hutchinson standing behind the chair.
He realized it was Glenn Hutchinson who had come.
But, upon seeing Glenn Hutchinson’s stern expression, he immediately became subdued.
Ill tidings have visitors.
Bard Walker, thinking of Flossie Wright’s situation, couldn’t help but feel even more resigned.
"Out with it," Bard Walker sighed, pointed at a chair next to him, and said directly, "What do you want to do?"
"Is the situation clear now?"
Glenn Hutchinson sat down on the chair.
Discussing the matter made Bard Walker uncomfortable. He knitted his brows, pondered for a moment, and then said gravely, "Yes, it’s clear."
Glenn Hutchinson leaned back in his chair, his gaze cold as he watched him.
The very picture of bureaucracy in action.
Clearing his throat lightly, Bard Walker said, "The rope was tied behind a tree, clearly cut. It was initially suspected to be a rock, but not a single stone could be found beneath the tree."
"Foul play?"
"Mm," Bard Walker nodded, hesitantly adding, "But we haven’t identified the culprit yet. Austin Shepherd has ruled out two suspects, while Rowdy Brightwill and Drake Easton are working on it."
"One of them is a nurse?" Glenn Hutchinson furrowed his brows.
"You suspect..." Bard Walker looked at him in astonishment.
Glenn Hutchinson responded without hesitation.
"Alright, I trust you."
Bard Walker nodded quickly, even letting out a sigh of relief.
His earlier discomfort stemmed from the fact that one of the suspects was a cadet currently being selected.
What if it was her?
The reputation would suffer if the news got out.
Even the Brigadier exerted pressure behind the scenes, hoping to downplay the incident.
After all, there were no casualties.
But the situation with that nurse was different.
Not even part of the Medical Staff, she was transferred directly from the Military District hospital, meaning she had no connection with him, and now she wanted to harm their selected cadet...
Calming the situation wouldn’t be so easy.
In the midst of their conversation—
The ringtone of a cell phone sounded.
Bard Walker took his phone and answered the call directly.
With a grave expression, he responded a few times, and soon, Bard Walker hung up the phone.
"It’s clear now."
Putting down the phone, Bard Walker sighed deeply.
Glenn Hutchinson raised an eyebrow.
"It was Mia Lawson," Bard Walker said with a gloomy look, explaining, "There was a nurse with her who witnessed her hiding a stone. At first, she denied it, but as soon as there was a witness, she confessed."
Pausing briefly, he continued, "They choose their own ropes for climbing, and most people prefer using the same one. Flossie Wright did as well. Mia Lawson had been watching for a while; she probably knew about this."
Glenn Hutchinson gave a cold, indifferent response.
A moment later, Glenn Hutchinson asked bluntly, "What do you plan to do about it?"
Thinking for a moment with a contemplative look, Bard Walker answered, "That depends on what Flossie Wright wants."
Flossie Wright was the person involved.
How to resolve it had to be decided with her consent.
