Assembly Area.
An empty ground set up with four rows of tents, all multi-person tents. There was open space in the middle, with two rows on either side, a total of about thirty tents.
Most of them were shrouded in darkness, with only a minority lit by tent lamps. Inside, they were mainly the wounded and the medics.
The night was gloomy, oppressively dark, accompanied by incessant rainfall, giving a formidable sense of pressure.

Nine o’clock. Maxwell Moore.
Inside the outermost tent.
Several people huddled together, snuggling together to keep warm in the chill of early spring.
While they were sleeping soundly, an intense light suddenly sparked, startling them awake.
Three seconds to react.
The people inside sprung up at the fastest speed.
"It’s nine o’clock."
Willie Ash swung the emergency lamp in his hand, looking at the situation inside, he loudly said to them.
Having not spoken for a while, his voice was somewhat hoarse.
A line of people got up.
Under the light of the emergency lamp, the entire tent was illuminated, and the situation inside was clear.
Eight people.
Dressed in jungle camouflage, their arms all adorned with the same armband.
Black was the base color, with two intersecting white swords in the middle, the contrast of black and white was striking.
No fancy patterns, but full of momentum, unstoppable.
As they woke up and walked over, they mumbled a few words, but their hands reached out for the raincoats outside, slipping them on immediately.
"Where’s the captain?"
Those who asked the question were Derek Moore.
Drooping his head, Willie Ash responded listlessly, "In the back."
Derek Moore paused slightly, raised his hand, gave a hearty slap on his shoulder, his voice slightly low, "Go get some sleep."
Willie nodded his head.
Others maintained silence, quickly got dressed and prepared to head out.
From three o’clock in the morning yesterday, as soon as the Captain received the message, he picked twenty-four people from Base to take part in this rescue operation.
They were just the forces on action.
Their Base was not far from Vernon City, they arrived directly by helicopter.
Afterwards -
They were stuck in an endless cycle of rescue operations.
The bustling city had turned into rubble. They witnessed shattered walls and ruins, homeless families, despair and hope...
Many victims were found in various states - guarding, despairing, panicking, helpless... too many heartbreaking scenes.
They were shaken by the enormity of it all.
Many times, these grown men were moved to tears.
They kept on the move, on the rescue for more than forty continuous hours.
They were exhausted.
Both physical and mental exhaustion, even to some extent, numbness.
Now, having only lied down for half an hour, they had to start a new operation.
Without complaints.
When saving lives, no one wants to complain.
Because, while they were fast asleep, perhaps someone was still trapped underneath, collapsing in agony, holding on to the last thread of hope.
The eight men quickly left.
Willie Ash picked up his watch, set an alarm for half an hour later, turned off the light and lay down inside directly.
Tired, so tired, he couldn’t care about anything else.
Two minutes later -
Six men, one after another, walked in. Someone kicked Willie Ash a few times, seeing that he didn’t move, they pulled him to the corner before stopping.
Meanwhile, the others took off their raincoats, their bodies all soaking wet, and lied down beside him.
"Where’s the captain?"
